My fellow mamas. My visa was denied again so I shall be bowing out of the team american baby race.

I was also thinking Canada but the process and fees is quite cumbersome. But if anyone knows how to go about it I am willing to listen.
please I think you should give the u.s a last shot and try canada too at the same time, the u.s embassy can be frustrating with the way the deny, my aunt was given after 4 refusals, so please try them again even it's going to be for the last time and God will favour you with them.

My people, how una dey?. I have missed you all , it's been my busy season at work . Apart from that there was nothing new from me, so i was waiting for madam to get to US before posting. But i kept checking the thread to know watzup, Justwise i can see you've been in serious battle of late. If you delete my post na stick I go use pursue you.....lol.

My Wife got to US on Saturday and it was a testimony for us. I am going to be detailed with her itinerary because i don't know which information may be beneficial. Na una dey find me, so make una take sit and follow my Story.

The testimony started from Lagos, Delta didn't check her fit to fly at all. After filling the Ebola form, she joined the long queue to scale through security but the officers excused her to join the fastrack line (Tip 1: For Preggies travelling soon, pls Carry your belle go fast track you will join the first class guys to clear security quickly). As soon as she cleared security a cart driver in MMA picked her up and drove her to her boarding gate (Tip 2: Don't trek except you wanna exercise, ask to be driven). By then I could go no further i went to the terminal till she boarded.

The hostess were nice. She landed in Atlanta by 5:13am , I logged on to Hartfield-Jackson airport website to track her flight because I was very anxious,i couldnt sleep well. By 6:28am Atlanta time, she called and told me she had cleared security and was at her departure gate for the next flight to Houston. An American who sat beside her on same flight gave her his phone to call me and even escorted her to her boarding gate. I knelt down and thanked the almighty because that speed blew my expectations. Below is her story: She was interviewed by a White Female officer:
Wife: Good morning ma (She gave CO her passport)
CO: Goodmorn ma, how many weeks is your pregnancy?
Wife: 33 weeks
CO: Oh i see that's like 7 months. How long are you staying in the US?
Wife: 11 weeks
CO: (Starts scanning her passport) Did you tell them you are coming to have your baby in the US?
Wife: Yes I did, I applied for a B1/B2 medical visa.
CO: You mean if i check your info now i will see you are given a medical visa?
Wife: Yes ma, please check.
CO: (Laughed) How much cash do you have?
Wife: $10,000 and my hubby's Bank of America card.

(NOTE: There seems to be a misconception on this thread. I see most preggies going with 9.9k, 9.5k etc The declaration form require you to declare cash above $10k only. It means you can carry $10k without declaring. Even if you have more than $10k it will only boost your story ,go ahead and declare it)

CO: Ok that's good, any other currency.
Wife: No ma.
CO: Will you be here alone?
Wife: My hubby will join me in few weeks time.
CO: Do you know about Medicaid?
Wife: Yes, I will not accept any aid because I know the implications (smiles)
CO: Don't accept any because if you do you may be denied visa at your next interview.
Wife: Ok ma thanks.
CO: Any food? Agusi, iru, Pomo,CO started laughing . Wife told her all she had and she wrote them down. She asked about her EDD? Wife told her. she typed a bit and stamped her in for 6 months. Do have a lovely stay in the US.....................................To Be Continued

She picked her luggage and an officer directed her to Secondary inspection. In total she spent 7 mins in Secondary Inspection because she timed herself.
Male CO: What is your Date of birth? She told him. You came to have your baby?
Wife: Yes
CO: Please bring your luggage and place it here.
Wife: She told him it's too heavy, she cant lift it.

Male CO: He smiled and helped her to place it on the table for scanning. He glanced through briefly picked only her medical report and read through. He asked how she will pay, advised her to keep her receipts. He didn't check or count her cash. He didn't seize any of her food. Her Dr appointment wasn't checked. He gave her a clearance paper and told her "Welcome to the US".

A trusted taxi driver picked her in Houston ,she headed to Bank of America to deposit some of her cash. (Make una open bank account on ur next visit, you may need it later. Wellsfargo and BoA are everywhere. It's easy to open an account once you have a US address. it's not safe for preggies to carry such cash around).

Lessons Learnt

1.Involve God in your journey. I fasted a day before she left and asked for all round favor, grace and mercy and that's what we got. Prayer works please don't underestimate its power.

2. Get it right from the beginning. If you are going for interview say the truth . If you've had your visa before conceiving, inform the embassy. In fact, She wrote the embassy about her change of destination from Elpaso to Richmond TX ,the Abuja Consular replied with a single line "Dear ma,Please be informed that a change in destination does not pose a problem". Phema helped her to edit the letter. They didn't ask about the letter at the POE but she had it just in case.

3. Even when you Pray, Be prepared for Anything. I told her to pack Cakes and Protein bars in her hand bag in case she faces long questioning at the POE. We did this because of those Houston horror stories. One week before her trip we started role-playing . I play the role of Border officer asking her POE questions. I got tired so i printed the questions for her because she was a playful and unserious student and I wasn't a very patient teacher either. Lol.

Before her trip, she also deleted all funny messages because of all those aproko officers that check phones. Last week, A Border officer in Atlanta called a lady's husband in Nigeria to confirm if her story was true, thank God his phone was with him. He answered their questions. I also kept my phone beside me. I gave her photocopy of my US visas and ticket to show she is married but they didn't check.

4. If you are going through Atlanta be ready for secondary inspection. 90% of preggies have not been able to dodge it. I have been keeping record, It is the norm in Atlanta.

5. Lastly, Avoid Houston POE ,i cant stress it enough.I once told a friend on this thread to go and reroute her ticket away from Houston or else we won't talk. Go to Dallas ,Newark,Orlando and New York if possible .

This thread has been a blessing. I have met a couple of members and they are all great people. Bloggerina, MrsDan, Lizcom25 and everybody thanks for checking on me. Praying all of us have good stories to tell at The End.

1 question, I'm travelling with less than $500 cash but I have BoA debit and credit card. With 10k and 5k on each respectively. Hope they won't frown at the little cash on me?

@Patty&Feddy, You are welcome. You will have better stories to share by his grace.

@Shawbabe. I will advise you go with most of your cash in hand. But if you insist on going with The BoA cards you can print your bank statement till date and show them your current balance.

@Ayasho and Mabel.....Amen and Thanks

@Latolly , sorry you haven't been answered lol. You can fill any of the options it depends on why you are applying and how you wanna present your case.If your application is for childbirth then it's advisable that you fill your hospital or doctor's address. Your residential address will be the last option here.

Yes hubby should fill thesame even if he has other plans for his trip. It shows you ain't hiding your intention. The VO will use his/her discretion to place him on B1/B2, while adding childbirth to your own profile.

Please can someone just be of help. I have tried reading all the posts but I can't seem to get to the required documents at Port of entry in the US. My friend will be travelling in one weeks time so that we don't miss out on any.
Meanwhile must she write to the embassy as she got her visa when she was not pregnant. Though during interview she was asked if expecting in the future and they said yes as they had been expecting for over 3yrs.
She will not be travelling with her husband. He will only come when she is about to come back. Someone mentioned a notary letter for the birth certificate. Please can someone throw more light on this and what will be the content.
Thanks a lot in anticipation. Help it's urgent.

Please note that she got her visa last year and was to travel for xmas but was told that it was too cold so they decided to go in July only for her to take in sometime in April. They had bought their ticket so cancelled it so she can go for birthing. What documents will she require at the port of entry and hope this will not pose any issue for her?
Anyone with same experience? Please help out.

I would seriously you advice her to read the whole blog and if not the whole from at least page 100,what she would gain from this cant be over emphasised.Thar said.
The good thing here is that she did not lie during her visa interview that she was not pregnant, because truely at that time she wasent.
It is imortant she writes a letter to the embassy informing them that she is using the visa for birthing purpose, will advice she writes to both lagos and abuja which ever reply suits her the most she should use, their email are consularabuja@state.gov and lagosniv@state.gov.
She should dowload the consent form for her husband to notarise before she leaves,i have heard that some states in the us requires the form to be notarised @ the us embassy while others accept just notarisation from any notary public
She should also go with doctors coresponde o, and enough cash o.

Hey Guys,

Another good way to travel is to fly to U.K stay like 2 or 3 days and then take a flight from U.K to America. Scrutiny is less on flights emanating from the U.K and Europe.

Hello dear,

These so called agents can totally mess someone up. Firstly, u need to wait till after 3 months from ur last refusal to apply again. Secondly, i think you should apply alone this time and fill your form truthfully. Also, u can provide transcripts of ur last 2 interviews for people to dissect and provide feedback. Lastly, get ur burden of proof as Pherma advised and pray for favor 'cos these VOs can decide without even going thru the burden of proof.

Good luck in your next application.

Thanks. Except the rules have changed you dont need a SSN to open an account. Go there with your international passport and explain you are not a permanent resident of the USA,they know what to do. The debit and credit cards will be issued within a week. They will place a limit of $300 on your credit card which you can review later. I hardly use the Credit card because of charges ,the debit card is sufficient.
