What's not true? That your broilers are underfed doesn't mean it's the right thing! How can you feed a broiler with 7kg for 10-11 weeks when the owners of most breed says at least 10kg in 10 weeks of age? Pls guide people correctly based on recommended standards!

EMMAACHILE:

Using the your formula for 50 broilers
50 * 10/25 = 20 bags!
This is not true
On the average I will use a max of 14 bags to feed 50 broilers to maturity
Meaning 50*7/25 =14 bags for 10-11 weeks

Mr man, this chart can only be a reference and it's not absolute. This can only be achieved under ideal conditions eg a controlled 28 degrees celsius environment.

Can you get 2.7kg under 6 weeks in your farm?
The summary in fcr ratio here is about 2.5:1 meaning for a broiler of 3 kg, you must have fed 7.5kg feed.

90 bags of feeds for 200 birds? @3900 per bag is approximately 1800 per bird only on feeding alone, when you add the cost of doc, drugs, vaccine and others, it will climb to 2500 or more.

Is not advisable to keep broilers beyond 8weeks, any extra is lost on the investment.

200 broilers cannot finish 90 bags in 12 weeks. That is the fact here. The guy should estimate max 60 bags to attain 2.5kg averagely around the 10th to 12 week.

If his projection is right, nobody will be raising broilers for business.

You are very correct!. 200broilers will need 1200kg of feed to attain more than 2kg @8weeks. going by Nigerian standard. 1200/25kg =48bags of feed. to feed them for another one month to reach 12weeks cannot take more than 13bags even if u decided to waste feed.
48+13= 61bags at least. And can exceed if u encountered serious bacteria infection like coccidiosis species etc., which causes serious weight loss and demands more feeding to achieve target weight.

the truth is that those antibiotics usually suppress the growth of broilers n birds in general and in any way they are used as either preventive or curative measures. this means they have both advantages and disadvantages but in my view the disadvantages outweighs the advantages. this is the main reason why approach like the organic method of raising birds came up aside other advantages not excluding the health benefit of the raised broilers to human consumption. If you want us to talk more you can drop us whatsapp no here or reach me via iekwonu@yahoo.com. I ll show you these things free of charge.

Please what is the average survival rate of this bird, I mean out of the 200 how many would eventually make it to the market (mortality rate) being a beginner?

I once raised 102 birds and all survived. Your mortlity should range from 0 to 10% (20) maximum.

Is that the price you sell to direct customers or the price you sell to marketers that sells by the road. Have decided to feed my 250 broilers 8kg per bird.
