The 2011 pools so far has been fair, but from all indications its not free. Electorates have received all kinds of threats. Including bomb blasts and the rest. Just on Friday, it rocked Suleja INEC office claiming the lives of 12 Nigerian citizens with several injured including serving youth Corpers.

As if that was not enough, just this Saturday, another rocked a polling center in Maiduguri taking the lives of 6 electoral officers.
Who and who is masterminding all these bomb blasts?? who is it that wants to make this country ungovernable. who is wasting the lives of innocent citizens whereas the ones that ruins this country walks free

WHO

The saboteurs will NOT succeed.

We should not let one or two regrettable incidents involving the unfortunate death of a few people obviate the fact that 73 million Nigerians are right now voting in free and fair conditions, the overwhelming majority uncowed by the vicious antics of saboteurs, whose victims are matyrs for our nascent, growing democracy.

Blast at polling station in northern Nigeria
Sat Apr 9, 2011 12:39pm GMT  Print | Single Page[-] Text [+] LAGOS, April 9 (Reuters) - An explosion hit a polling booth in a neighbourhood of the northeast Nigerian city of Maiduguri during a parliamentary election on Saturday, an emergency official said.

"There is a possibility of casualties," said Yushua Shuaib, spokesman for the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA). He said the polling station was in the Unguwar Doki neighbourhood.

Around 100 people have been killed in the run-up to elections in Africa's most populous nation, including 10 who died in a bomb blast at an election office on Friday. Nobody has claimed responsibility for that explosion.

See the details from Daily Trust:

A bomb blast had occurred at a polling centre at Unguwar Doki of Maiduguri metropolis and injured more than ten people. The hands and legs of a police woman who was stationed at the centre were chopped off while the two eyes of the presiding officer were flocked out by the ravaging blast shocked which occurred around 11.50am shortly before the commencement of voting.

Dozens of military personnel and anti bomb squad of the police were seen at the scene. Though the commandant of the Joint Task Force (JTF), a lieutenant colonel was seen at the scene, he did  not speak to journalist.

Witnesses said it will be difficult to identify the people that dropped the bomb as everybody at the scene was seen as a potential voter.

“I am afraid, the police woman and the INEC man may likely die because of the intensity of the injuries they sustained,” one of the witnesses said.
Most of the victims were taken to the emergency unit of the University of Maiduguri Teaching Hospital.
