I want to know if the language test that one must submit in the course of applying for a skilled worker category for canadian immigration is compulsory for persons from english speaking countries like Nigeria.

Most applicant from Nigerian have been using english language as their medium of instruction right from the primary, secondary and the university.

Why then must I submit an IELTS test score or result.

My question is are person from english speaking countries exempted from IELTS Test?

It's not compulsory but recommended. This way, you do not leave your eligibility to subjections. Growing up in an English speaking country does not mean you'd very fluent in English.
