Congrats! my broda won too, and both of them are just two out of the about 6000 people selected in Nigeria. Please tell your brother to make sure he provides the same information he provided in the original application form, in the next form he will be filling online, unless there has been a real, verifiable change. I will advise he should not try to introduce the issue of marriage at this point, unless the marriage is genuine and verifiable. Moreover, he should not ( of course he will not be allowed) try to smuggle the new bride ( if any) into the scheme, at this point. The only problem he might have is if he tries bringing any new info that might appear like an attempt to cheat the system. Trust me, lies are easily discover, because you will be asked the same question in differs ways in the course of the processing. Let him start processing the Police report, I think they get it from the headquarters in Lagos or Abuja. Its always advisable not to make much noise about it, he should not leave his job until traveling his imminent. I repeat tell him not to play smart in anyway. The medical text will be at Kamoras but that is not the next step for now. Let him fill the forms and await further directives. Please tell him America will not change him, if he could not succeed in Nigeria for whatever reason, he might even be more difficult to succeed in the US, if he has been succeeding here, he should be prepared to put in extra efforts, making it in the US is not a piece of cake. i understand the method to inform selectees of the dv is changed.(no longer by mail from 2012)which medium then, will be used since it seems scammers are using pples emails to send fake selected messages?

I am excited, I applied for my wife and I and both of us were selected, checked the result on the 2nd of May, PRINTED the selection letter with the security bar code, filled the forms online, printed them and sent them off to KCC by registered mail on the 10th of May.

Unfortunately the website is NOW experiencing 'technical diffculties', I am of the opinion that this is a way of reducing the number of applications for the first round of processing in a bid to manage the volume of forms coming in.

So for those who checked and were selected but did not print the letter, those individuals may be in the mirky waters of 'not acting promptly' The website may not be opened again until later in the year when the 1st set of interviews letters have been sent out, guess what? Interview letters will not be sent out via regular post, it will be posted to the website again, so you will have to log in again to check the letter of interview, you will only recieve an email informing you that there is an update for you on the status entrace site.

So keep your fingers crossed and hope the site is reopened soon so you can initiate the process, but I can alsmost guess that once the site is up and running again, the 6000+ visas for Nigerian citizens would have been almost exhausted.

I hope that you have printed the letter on selection with the security bar code, because if you have not done that then you may be already to late, however if you have, then you must act swiftly and follow the instructions on this website (www.dvselectee.state.gov).

All those who think they may have won the DV-2012 lottery this year should not celebrate yet. There was a fault with the program that made most individuals that were selected come from the first two days of application. A second round of selection is to be carried out and new results will be released by July 15th.

@sHAKERS you can still reclaim your confirmation code. Today, i was sent a mail from Kentucky or so, They informed me on the cancellation of the previous results and that anybody that has lost his/her confirmation number should follow a link.

There is still hope for you. Sign in to your E-mail address. Some other people also received this e-mail but I do not know if it is everybody.

I did not apply last year but did in 2010 BUT I RECEIVED A MAIL FROM THE DEPARTMENT OF STATES with a link to a confrimation number?

I have kept the confirmation number waiting till 15th of July to conifrm if my details does match the confrimation number if this goes true then most likely they really had a system failure cos i dint apply last year.
