Rep Dismisses Jumbo Pay As Non-issue by tundesto(m): 2:25pm On May 09, 2011
Wonder they say shall never end. A returned Federal law maker dismisses jumbo pay as non-issue. Many people have been clamoring for the slash in the bogus salaries and allowances of these Federal legislators, I christen legislooters. For a lawmaker to come out openly to say that the jumbo pay is not even enough means Nigeria still has herculean task ahead to make things right. The law maker claims at the expiration of their legislative business that they would go bankrupt because they cannot become a billionaire after 4years. Imagine this coming out of a lawmaker. I will refer this lawmaker to another lawmaker from Ekiti North Federal Constituency who just won a seat at the Federal House of Representatives. The latter claimed on resumption for legislative business, he will canvass for the slash in the bogus salaries and allowances. http://www.punchng.com/Articl.aspx?theartic=Art20110509395292

wink wink
Despite the overwhelming clamour from many stakeholders in Nigeria to scale down bogus salaries and allowances earned by members of the National Assembly, a member of the House of Representatives, Mr. Saraki Dickson, has dismissed the matter as a non issue.
Inspite of the cry that lawmakers in the country were overpaid, Dickson who represents Sagbama/Ekeremor Federal Constituency, told our correspondent that the issue remained a “baseless allegation.”
The lawmaker, who was returned to the house for a second term in the just concluded elections, further claimed that jumbo pay was a media creation.
He said no federal lawmaker could boast of being a billionaire after four years insisting that such status only existed on paper.
He argued that the allowances of the lawmakers seemed big because they were paid quarterly, claiming that much of the money was expected to be used for constituency projects.

Those of you that voted this man back in  . . .  wetin una wan talk of him now? How HONEST AND HUMBLE WAS HE AGAIN?
