Where can I get an inverter with built in batteries? I mean, something like a UPS (with a rechargeable battery within the unit), to power small household appliances like LED TV, Decoder, and standing fan for at least 4-5 hours? I'm not interested in those bulky ones with external batteries.

Actually, there is. Although I am not sure whether to call it an inverter or a Powerpack. Saw one in a friend's relative house I visited sometime last year. What I am looking for is something like these:

www.xantrex.com/power-products/backup-power/xpower-powerpack-400.aspx

www.xantrex.com/power-products/backup-power/xpower-powerpack-600hd.aspx

Anyone that has this product should please contact me here immediately. I am a serious buyer. Delivery location is Abuja.

Hello guys, I'm a bachelor and would love to get an inverter. The problem however is, in my area PHCN light is bad, as in too bad, sometimes a month no power and I've read that the stuff needs charging and my generator is the 'I better pass my neighbor' type. So based on all these please can anyone advise me on the type of inverter to get? Just to power 4 bulbs, a fan and a tv set as well as occasional ironing(pressing iron). thanks so much.

I pass my neighbors isn't going to work well with inverter o.
upgrade your gen to 2.8kva then visit
palatoetech.simdif.com
to make your choice.
I will recommend less than 3kva for you.

Now I need a DC 12 volts to AC 220 volts inverter or converter like the ones shown on this website:
www.voltageconverters.com/220_volt_power_inverters.html

I already have a good INEC battery to power it with. Bought an integrated unit from one guy called Nkadoj on NL here sometime ago but the 500-watt inverter itself malfunctioned in less than a week, leaving me with only the battery. Now I need another inverter, preferably one with at least 1,000 watts...to power LED TV, DSTV decoder and a small standing fan.

alaba international straight.
even though I don't like those inverters.
they are cheaper to buy but expensive to maintain.

How are they expensive to maintain? Are there other maintenance costs attached, other than just charging the battery and powering the inverter.

lemme make myself clear.
1. the inbuilt charger is not designed to charge for long periods. the charger is very slow and they mostly Bleep up within months.
2. when the inverting part breaks down, its is not so easy to fix . it has a double conversion technology in it. in simple terms, the DC to AC in it is actually DC to AC to DC to AC.
3. they are not rugged with inductive loads. fans etc.

please people, share your experience with these light weighted inverters.

Hello House,
I had an issue yesterday with my inverter (2.5kva) with 4 batteries (Sukam), the inverter refused to come on after I powered down my generator. I don't use my generator to charge the inverter batteries because of the size, its a 2.2kva generator.

I tried to turn it on several times, initially it came on sounded the buzzer then went off, several other attempts to power it back up proved abortive. My inverter and the batteries are just 4 months old.

Please has any one experienced this before and what was the likely cause?
