Nice work bro! Keep up the good work.

I'm also doing some work in the background here that is closely related. Your cost is very fair.

Spyder the baba, you are doing a fantastic job. Would a person have any reasons to worry about the possibility of leakage after this work is completed and the workers returned to the company. Do they allow a grace period within which they can return to fix potential leakages that could be spotted.
I assume there will be a sort of guarantee.

Keep doing what you are doing!
Re: Roofing A 4 Bedroom Bungalow With Gatehouse (pictures) by spyder880(m): 1:12pm On Sep 03, 2011
^^^^ Yes sir, there is no fear of leakages with this workers, any leakage noticed is promptly attended to. They gave me such an assurance. I think we have to watch the roof in periods of heavy rain to see if there is any leaks. Anyway they have not concluded the job so I don't have any reasons to start looking for any mistakes yet.
Thank you sir.

@Spyder880, please what is the thickness of the aluminium roof? I also want to ask if spaces were provided for ventilation of the roof or is that out of fashion now?
Re: Roofing A 4 Bedroom Bungalow With Gatehouse (pictures) by spyder880(m): 1:20pm On Sep 06, 2011
The thickness is 0.45mm and their is space for ventilation. Aluminum sheets are not flat so the folded nature will provide enough air vents all along the bottom eaves.

This is excellent job, I love the outside cladding that you used the aluminium to do round the house. It means there is no need to use PVC ceiling all around the house again.

Good thinking, good product, Lord Spyder880 cool

@spyder880 et al. Sorry for bringing this thread back to life. Was inspired to use bush green step tiles aluminum roofing sheets for my villa duplex. I got a quote of N1,098,148 broken down as follows:

(1) step tiles: 398m @N1,646 = N655,108
(2) cladding sheets: 40 @N1,646 = N64,840
(3) ceiling sheets: 50 @N1,470 = N74,000
(4) Falshings (various items) 90m @N1,480 = N133,200
(5) accessories = N30,000
(6) transport= N40,000
(7) installation = N100,000
Total = N1,098,148

I got another quote of about N872,000. This quote has labour as N75,000. The curious thing is this person gave step tiles as 326m. One more quote of N1,122,000 has step tiles 400m.

Iam trying to get 2 more quotes because of the disparity in the step tiles.

What do you guys think. Abeg, make una help me out as time is not on my side.

Nice work Spyder880. Just a quick question:

From the pix of the roofing, I cannot see any form of guttering mechanism. From what I can see, rain water will drain into the ceiling, walls, cladding etc which can be dangerous to the structure or am I interpreting the concept wrongly? Please kindly clarify. Well done.

We made provisions for rain water and paid for aluminum water gutter which ran right through the whole edge of the roof around the house. This will prevent water from splashing around the compound, it cannot run into the ceiling or touch the walls.

But the modern concept is to pay for this type of water channel which looks cute and can lap with the wall, bringing water down the roof. I was shown this by a friend, will still get closer to collect a closer view of the channels, they looked like trunking pipes to me.
