Abia 2023: We Either Go Forward Or Continue In Darkness — Abaribe by Dovegrey: 4:09am On Jan 09, 2022
The Senator representing Abia South constituency, Mr Enyinnaya Abaribe, has declared that it is either Abians remain in darkness or move forward, come 2023.

Recall that Vanguard had reported that Abaribe had announced his intention to run for the highest office in Abia in 2023.

Addressing a crowd of loyalists who had thronged at Apugo’s house, Abaribe said he was in the race to rescue and re-invent Abia.

” It’s either we go forward or we continue in darkness.

” We need to rescue Igbo land, and Abia must be at the forefront of Igbo emancipation.”

A member representing Umuahia East State constituency at the Abia House of Assembly, Hon. Chukwudi Apugo has declared that he does not believe in zoning but competence.

The lawmaker made the declaration while fielding questions from newsmen after receiving the Senate Minority Leader, Senator Enyinnaya Abaribe who came to visit him in his Ibeku country home.

According to him, Abia should focus on competence and not zoning in determining Gov. Okezie Ikpeazu’s successor in 2023.

His words: ” I don’t believe in zoning. I believe in competence.

” We should jettison zoning and focus on competence. Competence and capacity to deliver should be paramount.

” We want anybody that will take over from Okezie Ikpeazu in 2023 to have the competence to take Abia to the next level.”

Asked whether he had endorsed the candidature of his guest who penultimate week declared his ambition to succeed Ikpeazu in 2023, Apugo said it was too early to endorse any aspirant.

” If Abaribe is the best candidate I will support him irrespective of his zone but if there is a better candidate I will support the person.

” As a stakeholder in Abia politics, my house is open to other aspirants for consultations. I will support the most competent person”.

Same Abaribe that you cannot point one project he has done throughout his tenure as a senator. He is part of the present Government of darkness. How can someone who cannot see things right set things right? Abia state is truly cursed with vision less and selfish leaders. They have an industrious populace but their leaders keep failing them. Abaribe is a scam and unfit to hold that position.

Abaribe is a hypocrite. That he talks too much as a senator is not a guarantee for competence. He was once a deputy Governor and now a senator and nothing to show for it in his own constituency.
He has never spoken against bad governance caused by PDP in Abia. Always deceiving the gullible and useless people of Abia by supporting IPOB. Inwardly he hate IPOB but just want to use them to cash out.
Now he is talking about competence not zoning. Tomorrow he will say it's the turn of South East to rule. Is he also aware there are many competent people in the North and South West that can rule this country for 50 years if zoning is jettisoned.
Deceivers everywhere

I pity Abia state, so Abaribe knew that Abia state was in a mess and didn't voice it out until he wanted to run for the office. People should open their eyes biko, Abia youths better don't vote him.
I could remember vividly when Abaribe was asked what has achieved for the constituency he was representing, he only mentioned transformer and nothing much. I think *PDP* has failed Abians woefully but *APC* is not an option

Go back and read your comment.
Igbos should be united, it doesn't matter who leads, but who can take the Igbo nation to the promise land, your statement can bring rancor.
So if Anambra who is the supposed leader of the Igbo nation lacks the will power to lead the agitation, should Abia another state with vibrant men fold there hands.
Abaribe has more will power than Soludo in terms of the agitation of Igbos. He is pro biafra and I think the only govt office holder who has been outspoken about the agitation.
Igbos should unite to achieve their goal, enough of all this divisive statement, who is core Igbo and who is not.

Mind you am just a Niger Deltan from a sister state who believes Igbos have been marginalised enough.
