Super eagles and SSC Napoli striker Victor Osimhen has won the Nairaland Nigerian Football Fans Player of the year award for the second time in a row. The former Lille hitman beat fellow super eagles forwards Kelechi Iheanacho and Emmanuel Dennis to win the award in a poll conducted by football fans on Nairaland. In the female category, Asisat Oshoala beat off competition from Chiamka Nnadozie and Rasheedat Ajibade to emerge the woman player of the year, while former Enyimba forward, Anayo Iwuala won the NPFL player of the year award for his exploits in the league. Akwa United were also voted the team of the year ahead of the super eagles and Enyimba FC. The full list of winners: 1. Well done NNFF Team. The people of Nairaland Sports, Naija football section have spoken. Osimhen reigns supreme bagging Player of the year and Striker of the year. Congrats to Awoniyi also. Most improved player of the year is no small feat and that partly explains why he leads the lines at Afcon2021 in Osimhen's absence. He's been one of the Bundesliga's finest players so far this 21/22 season. Well deserved. Congrats to Zaidu Mage Sanusi also. Well deserved bagging the Best Defender of the year award. Congrats to Oshoala also. The Queen of Nigerian and African women's football. In 2021, she set many records. First African player to lift the UWCL title and first African Woman player to win the Treble in Europe. Congrats to all the winners by categories.
