finished and the mountains echoed by khaled hosseini, quite deep but the endings arent really happy ones per se, more like bittersweet.

and, he gives this book a more american presence, unlike the first two which were majorly afghan culture.

he sounds more "white", which might be a good thing because the first two could easily make one forget afghans are still caucasian, never mind the fact that they're not european.

Jim Collins - Great by Choice.

A 9-year research to know why some companies thrive even during financial crises while others dont. Great book for anyone who would like to start a company in the near future.

He also authored two interesting books: Built to Last and Good to Great.

Still reading Antifragility: How to Live in a World We Don't Understand by Nicolas Taleb.

what's it about?

what's it about?

It's a book that explains how some things thrive under chaos, why randomness is not as bad we have been thinking about, and how we can begin to make use of the possibilities that it offers us... The fragile is that which breaks under the effect of stressors while the Antifragile - a concept hitherto ignored by most of us, are those things that get better, improve, under the effect of stressors.

It is a brilliant book from a brilliant mind and even though I finished it sometime last year I revisit it every now and then. It's always beautiful to come across an original idea and this is certainly one.

I'm presently reading the Innocent Mage By Karen Miller
The Review

The Innocent Mage
By Karen Miller

The kingdom of Lur is where to use magic
unlawfully means death, summary death.
Doranen haveruled Lur with magic since
arriving as refugees centuries back. Theirs
was desperate flight to escape the wrath of a
powerful mage who started a bitter war in their homeland, so to keep Lur safe, the
native Olken inhabitants agreed to abandon
their own magic. Magic is now forbidden
them, and any who break this law was
executed. Asher left his coastal village to make his
fortune. Employed in the royal stables, he
soon finds himself befriended by Prince Gar
and given more money and power than
he’d never dreamt possible....
