A Batch B youth corps member, Dr. Laz Ude Eze, (FCT/10B/3456) has donated textbooks worth over N250,000 to beef up the library of Government Secondary School, Nyanya, in the outskirts of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja.

The books were received by the Vice Principal (Administration), Mallam Chedi Aliyu Mohammed, on behalf of the school. He was assisted by the Vice Principal (Academics), Librarian, school Head Boy, Head Girl and two other corps members.

Eze, who is an alumnus of the University of Ibadan, made the gesture barely one week to the completion of his national service. He said he decided to make the donation not only as part of his community development project, but also to assist in the equipment of school libraries, which he said, is a veritable resource base for indigent students.

According to the young medical doctor, who hails from Okposi, Ebonyi State, the donation to the senior class section of GSS, Nyanya, comprise of 50 books that cut across various subjects like English Language, Mathematics, Further Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and Biology.

Others, he disclosed, include Oxford Advanced Learners Dictionary, 1999 Constitution (as amended), Things Fall Apart as well as some copies of a pathology book authored by him.

Vice Principal (Administration), Mallam Chedi Aliyu Mohammed, noted that the donation came at the right time when the students were getting ready for their end of session examination, even as he thanked Eze for his thoughtfulness and charity.
