Benue has gone agog with different feelings from different quarters in the last one week. The state Government in a bid to uplift moral standard amongs her citizen recently announced that, all civil servants in the state must always dress coporately and decently to work and public offices.

Just last thursday (2nd August, 2007), Makurdi and Gboko was visited by some members of the Nigerian force authority to cleans the streets of indecent dressing expecially amongs female. All ladies who walked the streets with jeans trousers on and were unlucky to be seen by the force men had their trousers torn publicly.
The 'ladies in trousers' have taken to their heels in Benue as one can hardly see any Benue girl within her major cities now with trousers on.

Most men are in support of this move while, few of the ladies who are against it have virtually nothing to do for now to stop it.

Has this act gotten to your area or it is only peculiar to Benue State?
What is your opinion about this whole thing?

I do not really get your point? Considering that being naked is the natural human state, please tell me the consequences of going naked?

Wow, some people here are blaming Islam for the actions in Benue State. I am not even in support of the ban or persecution that is going on but cant stand to see how brazen some statements are made here. The same issue is going on in Lagos, but Islam never came up in that thread. Come to think of it, Benue is even a predominantly christian state. So the issue of Sharia will never rise up there.
