Wonders they say shall never end  grin

A MAN woke up in a mortuary and screamed to be let out – scaring away staff who thought he was a ghost.

His family had presumed the 50-year-old was dead when they could not wake him and contacted a private mortuary.

He then spent almost 24 hours zipped up in a body bag in the room before waking and scaring the two attendants, who later returned and called an ambulance.

The shocked man, who has not been named, was treated in hospital for dehydration. Health spokesperson Sizwe Kupelo said: “Doctors put him under observation and concluded he was stable. He did not need further treatment.” The man woke up at 5pm on Sunday, demanding to be let out of the chilly mortuary in Libode village in the Eastern Cape, South Africa.

Mr Kupelo said the attendants on duty were terrified, adding: “At first the men ran for their lives.”

When told their “dead” relative, a grandfather, was still alive, his family were “surprised and shocked”.

Officials have now urged the public to contact doctors or the emergency services so they can pronounce someone dead before calling an undertaker.

Mr Kupelo added: “You begin to you ask yourself how many other people have ‘died’ like that in a mortuary.”

This is very common world over. that is why it's smart to give the dead some time to decide if they really want to die or not. lol
