Manchester City Spend £240 Million On Strikers! by norrisman: 2:09pm On Jul 30, 2011
Manchester City have spent £240 million (excluding wages) on strikers since 2008. At present they have 7 strikers on their books who cost a total of £190 million. In my opinion this is ridiculous. The owners obviously know they are throwing money down the drain and the money will never be recouped. Not that they care anyway. I think some of this money down the drain would be better spent to help those people living in the horn of Africa. I remember it took weeks for the aid organisations to get countries to pledge £8 million (not donate - A pledge is to promise so its not guaranteed). How does anyone in their right senses expect the likes of Arsenal to compete in this kind of crazy market.

Sergio Aguero from Atletico Madrid - £38 million  July 2011
Edin Džeko from Wolfsburg - £27 million January 2011
Mario Balotelli from Inter - £24 million August 2010
Carlos Tevez from Manchester United - £47.5 million July 2009
Emmanuel Adebayor from Arsenal - £25 million July 2009
Roque Santa Cruz from Blackburn - £17.5 million June 2009
Craig Bellamy from West Ham - £14 million January 2009
Robinho from Real Madrid - £32.5 million September 2008 (sold to Milan for £15million in August 2010)
Jo from CSKA - £18 million June 2008 (sold to Sport Club Internacional for £6 million in July 2011)

David Silva - £30 million July 2010
Yahya Toure - £24 million July 2010
Jerome Boateng - £10 million June 2010 (sold £10.5 million 2011). Profit, Ope o!

Kolo Toure - £16 million July 2009
Gareth Barry - £12 million June 2009
Joleon Lescott - £24 million August 2009
Shay Given - £7 million February 2009 (sold £3.5 million 2011)
Nigel De Jong - £18 million January 2009
Wayne Bridge - £10 million January 2009

Vincent Kompany£6 million August 2008
