Rivers State Governor Nyesom Wike says contrary to some expectations, he and his loyalists in Rivers State will not leave the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) but remain to continue the fight for internal democracy.

Governor Wike stated this during a meeting with stakeholders of the party across the 319 wards of the state at the Banquet Hall of the Government House in Port Harcourt on Thursday.

He said retreating from a fight is a sign of weakness. The meeting was to brief the party leaders on the recent happenings in the party and intimate them of the plan by the Governor to hold a media chat tomorrow at 10 am to speak on the state of the PDP in the country.

Wike said the planned media chat is to publish his side of the story, which he maintained is the truth, and expose the ill characters of some persons who pride themselves as national leaders.

According to him, after the chat, it will be left for Nigerians to decide if such people are still worthy of the ovation they are accorded. Governor Wike wondered why the PDP which is promising to unify Nigeria, cannot unite the party.

Governor Wike says despite the internal crisis at the national level and a pocket of antagonism by some ungrateful PDP members in Rivers State, the party will retain all elective positions in the state.

Either you leave Pdp or not, As it stands today, Atiku/Okowa has come to win massively in February 25th, 2023 presidential election. It’s the dummies that took you as thin god that you are deceiving and not the Pdp in all the 36 States in Nigeria. Even in Rivers State where Wike is wailing up and down, the electorates will vote enmass for Atiku/Okowa presidential bid. Atiku/Okowa has come to win. Wike will learned the hard way Fayose learned and Ameachi in Nigeria politics.

Please don't leave Sir.

Remember our last discussion in our previous meeting together, which we agreed that you will help us make Atiku lose so that our incoming presidoo His excellency Peter Gregory Obi (GCFR) will win.

Don't forget the oath we took, it has a very dangerous repercussion if you break it.

Wike should remember that there is always a tomorrow in politics. All those that pilloried GEJ in 2015 now see him as a hero. Hard stance in politics is not strategic

Dem no dey tell mad man when rain dey fall
my brother Let Wike keep burning bridges
It will all come back and hunt him after he hands over power in 2023,
The various Wike sponsored Rivers state PDP candidates (Governorship candidate, House of reps candidates, senate candidates ,and state house of assembly candidates) for 2023 elections, in River State will all dump Wike, the moment they are sworn in and Wike hands over power in 2023, nobody wants to have a self domineering, ego centric, unstable and self imposing power drunk mad man like Wike on your neck everyday because he sponsored your election, when he was Governor

He will lose woefully in any future PDP Presidential Primary, cos he is only creating more enemies for himself in the Future
Wike will be alienated in PDP and other opposition parties, every one will avoid him from May 2023, because he is unstable, a ticking time bomb..
Even those he calls his loyalists now, the moment Wike becomes an Ex Governor in 2023, those his so called loyalists will dump him and look for the next Governor currently in power , that will be their next ATM and financing their political activities
.

I don't get. You're not leaving the party but you're working against the party, what's the logic there? If you are a Cutlass, come out as one. Don't have two sharp edges.

Work for your party to win first, then fight if you can.

If you fight now and you fail to win at the end of the day, it will all be for nothing.

Wike and co should rather act fast to pitch their tent with OBI-dient movement and support Labour Party in the presidential polls. Atiku and Tinubu have assumed positions in the country, and they are still stubborn political grasshoppers and do not want to relinquish power to the youths. Nigeria can regain her political problem if all these old brigades are pushed out of the system. Nigerians will never forgive themselves in 2023 if they make the costly mistake of retaining these old brigades. Tinubu should be apologizing to Nigerians for the calamity he brought upon her and not coming out to contest for presidency. He has no shame but I assure him he will disgraced at the polls next year. After the monumental disaster called Buhari, Nigeria cannot afford another leader whose driving motivation for the presidency is to merely fulfil a lifelong dream. Tinubu has a right to pursue his ambition but not at the expense of poor and long-suffering Nigerians already counting down to the days when Buhari’s nuisance will be escorted out of Aso Rock. The 2023 election should be a turning point. Recruiting another bumbler like Tinubu as president jeopardizes that chance. We can all agree that Nigeria deserves better than a candidate without a viable record of administrative success beyond the cheap propaganda. Wike should act fast to join the Obi-dient movement and shun PDP or APC advances. A word is enough for the wise!

Delusional grandiose!

There is no way Atiku can even get 10% of Rivers vote without wike's support, it's impossible. His GDI is another arm of State PDP. They swing according to the directives of the governor.
Then you have the major electorates to contend with who are desperately yearning for a fresh leadership in the person of PeterObi.

Take it to the bank, Atiku is becoming unpopular as time goes. The presidency must return to the south and this time around, Peter-Obi is the most favored
