both of them are simply two sides of the same coin.

obj said it all: IBB is really a big fool at 70. using price of oil per barrel to judge. a million naira in 1990 is worth more than N1million in year 2000. same with a million dollars in 1980 and year 2000. u can get a brand new car in 1990 for about N120,000. same car was worth over a million 20years later.

ibb's knowledge of economics is very shallow. he left in 1993 by stepping aside & refusing to hand over power to mko abiola - the winner of the best election in Nigeria. he left the economic is a worse state than he met it.

obj left in 2007 & handed over power to perhaps the most eligible candidate. the visionary & transparent governor of katsina state. yaradua. obj's legacies lives on. he sustained democracy for eight years & witnessed its successful transition.

obj boosted our corporate image abroad in an aggresive national branding campaign. he created more jobs than any government. he attracted the largest foreign investment ever. he also effected security which is far important than an other things

IBB IS A BIG FOOL and should cover his face in shame. no wonder the nothern forum elders preferred atiku to represent the north in the last election. what more can l say.

@ passyjango:

Nobody said IBB invented corruption, he institutionalized it and made it a state policy. In fact corruption is alive in every country, IBB made it possible for people not to hide it, instead people are proud of it now. That's the difference and tragedy.

Assassinations - what happened in the 60s to Balewa et al which you mentioned was death in a coup d'etat, not assassination. IBB has lots of death by c'oup which I discountenanced. Remember Vatsa? IBB's bestman? IBB killed him for a fake c'oup which has not been substantiated till date. By assassination I mean killing of political or civil opponents illegally without any offence.

Just because no govt has been bold to try him does not mean there are no evidences against him. Why did he run away from Oputa panel?
How can he escape the following if a serious minded person gets into govt and decides to ask him?
1. How he acquired his 50 room palacial mansion in Minna? If you add all his salaries from 1963 when he joined the Army to 1993 when he was disgraced out, assuming he did not spend a kobo, it could not buy the land and build it beyond foundation - without any fence.
2. What happened to $12Billion Oil Windfall money? Even Abacha, with all his looting, estabished PTF with it. Now it's called Excess Crude Account Money. Okigbo Panel Report is still waiting for him to answer his indictment on how he stole the whole money.
3. Over 33 people were killed in Lagos during June 12 protests by soldiers on his shoot-at-sight order. Hosni Mubarak is on trial in Egypt for same offence and will likely get a death sentence if found guilty. Yet IBB is walking freely in a warped society where some perverted minds even celebrate him!!!
So sad.

They say a people get the type of leaders they deserve, and they deserve the type of leaders they get. With citizens like passyjango, it is no wonder why Nigeria is where she is, and why we continue to wallow in absurdities. People like this person make normal people look queer and bad ones appear ok.

I weep for Nigeria after reading your comments.

By the time IBB came in Nigeria's external debt was less than $4B, he amassed it to $34B. What does than mean? He stole $30B from future generations because the tenor of those were not less than 25 yrs!
OBJ paid it off. Now it has started to grow!!!
Re: IBB Fires OBJ Again! by iyes(m): 9:48pm On Aug 21, 2011
All said; I'm not an OBJ apologist.
Both IBB & OBJ deserve to be tried and either jailed or executed for their crimesd against Nigerians if we were in a sane country. But IBB deserves double punishment - if anything like that exists.

He ruined and poisoned the basic social fabric of this country, in addition to negatively altering the thinking and psyche of the people, forever! That is apart from economic ruin he caused.

If you don't believe. Compare his reing to Rawlings in Ghana, they were in power at the same time. The results are different today when you consider the type of foundation each of them laid, and the impact their policies have on their people and next generation.

Any more proof that IBB was the worst curse to befall Nigeria?

I mean, Who picks up a fight and throw punches on their BD instead of promoting goodwill and best wishes?

Looks like this ibb clown is jealous of Baba. Baba is one of the most respected, relevant and influential African leaders, the most powerful nigerian leader, he gets called on about everything africa and he has a real job at his famous Ota farm.

I also think he's still mad at Baba for successfully playing odechukwu against him during the PDP primaries and how the whole country rejected his tired a.s,s.

^^^^^^

yes we would like to believe that but the issue here is OBJ need to adress the issues raised by IBB till then u might just be one of those fools??
Re: IBB Fires OBJ Again! by EkoIle1: 10:35pm On Aug 21, 2011
And I guess the ones raised by Baba means nothing to you.

You are not only a fool, you are a dubious fool.

Before IBB, Nigerian Railways, Nigerian Airways, and Nigerian National Shipping Lines were all alive and kicking well.
None of them was in operation by the time he left!!!

The case of NNSL was more pathethic, out of 11 ships in the fleet 3 was sold to his cronies, and the rest were said to have disappeared!!! Can you imagine that? A whole ship missing

IBB started duplication of govt agencies where there're Ministries saddled with the same functions, thereby abandoning/neglecting the trained professionals in the Ministries to rot away, while siphoning & wasting away.
What is the outcome of all his house of cards now? MAMSER - Ministry of Information, DFRRI - Ministry of Works, Ministry of Agric & Rural Devpmt, NDE - Ministry of Commerce & Industry/Ministry of Sports & Youth Devpmt.

He bastardized Civil Service by introducing Directors who are non-career people, usually political appointees as overall bosses over Permnanent Secretaries who were career officers & formerly the bosses in Ministries. The effect is erosion of morale professionalism in Civil Service. Also it created 2 bosses, installed non-stakeholders with no track records as CEOs who loot the MDAs during their tenures & move on to another after wrecking where they left.
Besides these, it overbloated cost of governance unduly all because he wanted to create "chop" for his cronies. All of these were when he deceived Nigerians that Govt could not cater for their needs, and that we needed "leaner govt". Instead he interpreted that concept upside down. Whereas it means reducing the organs and offices to cut cost of governance while still carrying out the functions efficiently, IBB's leaner govt was reducing govt's responsibilities while increasing cost of governance!

What of the issue of "Office of First Ladies"? Before him, nothing like that existed, and there is no where in the world where it is practiced. His wife, Mariam started and glamourized it at the people's expense to no positive contribution. Don't tell me about her pet project of "Better Life for Rural Women" for it was a ruse to steal and waste money. Their meetings were held in NICON-NOGA & Sheraton hotels with wives of Governors, LG Chaimen, MDA Chairmen etc in attendance. They would buy farm produce and bring to such fora for exhibition in front of TV cameras. Kai, great fraud, while nothing happened to improve rural women's means of livelyhood. They still could not afford to send their children to schools or get better accommodation at the end of the day! Once in a while, they will sink a miserable shallow borehole in a community where pipe borne water is their need. These borehole usually dry up within 1-6 months of ceremonial commissioning. There were cases where they did not find water, instead they brought water tanker to fill the overhead tanks just for the commissioning ceremonies purpose. Where are those today? Meanwhile water-works and dams built by colonials & 1st/2nd republic leaders are the only sources of pipe borne water till date.
To add insult to injury, they were built at more expenses than those dams!

Mariam had an office, with all the paraphernelia and appurtenancies of an elected governor. It was the begining of lobbying wives of people in offices in order to get what is due you or your community. She decided who got what, where projects were sited, which states were created and where the headquarters were! She had Aides, Advisers, Special Advisers, Assistants, Special Assistants on every imaginable matters.

It was unheard of, unimaginable, and repulsive. But shamelessly, IBB counted such profilgacy as his "social engineering" project!

Can anyone tell/show me anything that guy planted that was not with fraudulent intention? Or nything he initiated that had an iota of honesty of purpose?
