With barely 10 days to the much awaited 2012 Nations Cup decider against Madagascar, the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has warned Super Eagles’ against dropping point in the remining Nations Cupqualifiers.

The NFF President, Aminu Maigari, told Vanguard Midweek Sports Xtra Monday from his base that the September 4, African Cup of Nations qualifier in Madagascar was Nigeria’s biggest obstacle to which must be overcome before the clash against Guinea.

“The match against Madagascar is very crucial for us, it’s a must win for us to be at the African Nations Cup to be hosted in Gabon/ Equatorial Guinea. In fact it’s our biggest obstacle in which many things are involved. It’s a match that will decide our fate in the Nations Cup participation. Everybody in the football house and of course, Nigerians at large are much concerned about how to come out of this match successfully.

“So I don’t want to take anything for granted, so we are doing everything possible to ensure that at the end of the day, we emerge victorious”, he said.

The Super Eagles of Nigeria are in Group B with seven points alongside Guinea with 10 points, Ethiopia, four points and Madagascar, one point.

The NFF boss also said that the federation’s technical committee was working assiduously to ensure the Eagles’ qualification.

“We met on Friday to plan on a strategy that will give us a positive outcome.”

But he would not be drawn into the issue of proposed players’ list by Coach Samson Siasia. He said that the federation was also working to ensure the quick release of the players from their various clubs and to get entry visas on time to prepare for the remaining crucial matches.

Maigari said the federation had told the Super Eagles handler, Coach Samson Siasia, to reach out to the players early to enable them prepare for the match.
