[size=13pt]Prosecute Boko Haram members or release Okah[/size] By Samuel Oyadongha Yenagoa – Former militants and youth activists in the Niger Delta region have described as a “miscarriage of justice” the refusal of the Federal Government to arrest and prosecute members of the Boko Haram sect in the wake of the spate of bomb attacks in Abuja and other parts of the North. They said that such weakness on the part of the Federal Government should immediately lead to the unconditional release of the detained leader of the Movement for the Emancipation of the Niger Delta Region, MEND, Mr. Henry Okah. The group of former militants and youth activists, under the aegis of the Network of Freedom Fighters in Niger Delta, NIDDEMCOW, led by a former President of the Ijaw Youth Council, Mr. Nengi James, said the rising cases of bomb attacks and the killings by Boko Haram had vindicated the MEND leader, Okah, as a man unjustly persecuted by the Federal Government. The group, in a statement in Yenagoa, said the failure of the Federal Government to commence criminal proceedings of members of the Boko Haram sect amounted to double standard and demanded for the release of the MEND leader, from South African jail. The group said: “We condemn the bombing of the United Nations building in Abuja and the killing of innocent citizens. It has equally vindicated Henry Okah. “We call on the Federal Government to release the MEND leader from jail if the Boko Haram members are to be released un-prosecuted. Henry Okah was first to be used by the powers behind boko haram. The fool started bombing the place and fighting the dirty fight for aboki MEND. Henry Okah and boko haram are on the same side. That clown deserves a life sentence. |

@Abujabir24: so you think the best way to fight this corruption is to kill innocent nigerians and foreigners thru bombings and acts of terrorism? the last time I checked about 23 HUMANITARIANS with UN were confirmed dead! These stu*pid people are the cause of everything that is going on in Nigeria. I wonder who gave Boko Haram people the liver to import bombs and bomb Abuja if they did not start it. They should all be rounded up and prosecuted one by one. What have they achieved for the common South Southerner? Apart from enriching themselves? How have they made the lives of the people in the SS better? Sharrap! They are to blame for setting this precedent. They cant even succeed in the foreign countries they sent them to. What a big waste of Nigerian resources and very very bad decisions by GEJ government for giving them handout instead of improving the average SS'ners life. |

Two wrongs don't make a right. Both extremist groups should not be compared, we all have a common enemy -terrorists- disguising themselves as crusaders fighting for the people (while also killing the people they claim to fight for), we shud suggest ways forward and not bicker over who started wat In whose house. Usefull tips to appropriate authorities, total condemnation of such acts being our brothers keepers, these are our responsibilities. God bless Nigeria. |

The major problem is the militants are backing up the wrong tree, the mend leader is not being held by the FG. They should address their grievance to the south African government. Its is as stupid as asking the FG to release Ibori. |
