Considering the disaster that has befallen Nigeria for some time now, it's imperative that Madam Jonathan keeps a low profile in order not to add insult upon the injury that her husband has inflicted on Nigerians. Her grammar is "second to last" to none.

Leave her alone. Oyibo even makes mistake, just that the enforce their mistakes on everybody an make it a standard.
consider
Give her her book (good)
Give him him book (supposed to the the right sentence)
Give him his book (a mistake converted to standard)

He who plays football = A player (good)
He who reads = A reader (Good)
He who sings = A singer (Good)
He who cooks = A cooker (Good but since Oyibo made an initial mistake to have called him a cook, now it is Wrong)
He who cooks = A cook (Good but supposed to be wrong as the food being cooked is supposed to be the cook)

Bringing Mrs Dame's grammar into perspective

If the doctors and nurses had not responded quickly when the patients were brought to be treated, then the patients may have not survived
So, the first thanks go to the Doctors and Nurses that responded promptly to the treatment
then the patients thanks (for responding to treatment) will also go to God and the doctors and nurses.

So she is right after all.

Lesson Learnt:

Always thank Doctors and nurses for responding to treatment.
