If true love exists why break up after months or years. Love is all about likeness and mutual respect and understanding. The word 'true' is deceptive. What do you think?

True love does not mean you have to be together.  You can maintain that status quo--within a reasonable distance!  It is in the mind.

I most certainly believe that 'true love' exits!

But what is 'true love'?

It may mean something different for each person.

To me it means totally loving a man for who he is and wanting for him what he wants for his self. Meaning that I care about his happiness. It also involves a relationship based on safety, trust and respect. It includes just enjoying each other's beingness. And the feelings of love are totally mutual.

This is not the crazy, madly in-love type love that is based on physical chemistry. Rather it is developed over time by knowing each other on a deep level. Whereas, in-love chemistry is usually based on a fantasy of who the other person is.

I guess there would be break ups till u actually finds teh true love, Now can i say true love exist? i am not too sure, but i blv there do exist, real and true women/men that are capable of giving real and true love, but circumstances are making them to fall short

Nobody dumped me but I have come across upto 4 girls telling me they truely love me but to me we were just friends catching our fun and helping each other but I leave any time circumstances is no longer conducive.If actually true love exist, it should be reciprocal and grow at same time. why on earth should u cheat on someone u say u truely love or why should u not forgive someone u truely love to the extent of breaking or divocing. I still maintain that love is all about mutual respect and understanding which tends to fade once one person begin to take it forgranted. If u dispute me defind what it is and it's characteristics. Love developes when two people begin to understand, trust themselves and respect their feelings but the word TRUE LOVE is deceptive. Does not exist.

If ur definition(totally mutual and building over period of time) and mine is what true love is, that means many peolpe are marrying someone they do not truely love. Any other defn? No Neonate's contribution plz.
