Sit out by the side of the kitchen

When I took another look at this gaping hole where concrete will enter (picture 1 and 2), it made me start thinking, and what did I come up with, a way to limit the use of concrete on site. I am thinking that if after the 9th block, we can buy 5'' solid blocks and place them sideways on top of the blocks that has gotten to lintel level. (picture 3 on below). Then we can use cement to chalk it to that position and proceed with carpentry works.
When its time to cast the lintels, we just pour it on top of the 5'' flattened blocks. (It will look as these blocks on the last picture) This will ensure that no concrete escapes through the block holes. Another advantage of this is that it will make the whole house taller by 5''.

What are the disadvantages of this?

Work will soon start in this site after the new year.

In Enugu?

The owner of this great house called me today and assured me that we are to move back to this site before long (possibly in the next few days). We are always ready to hit the road and do our thing if the site is within easy reach.

I will soon have much to do in that axis, coming up are;

1. The continuation of an old house in Nnewi.
2. Remodelling of an old foundtion and building of a duplex at Okija.
3. A new estate at Asaba.

We are very excited about the prospects and you will see all the works here live! We are surely moving on.

I can now confirm that work will soon start in this site as soon as next week. We intend to continue the building from where we stopped. More pictures of work progress by the time we start.

We are getting ready to move and add to this building. Two trips of sand, one trip of stone is already purchased, my men will be moving to do some work in this house as from this weekend. More pictures when we start.

We have started working in this site again after a long rest. Rinforcement of the columns done, carpentry set to start before the casting of the pillars.

We will continue our work in this site as from tomorrow, a couple of my boys are resuming work here in the morning.
