The Middle Belt Dialogue, (MBD), a socio-cultural affiliation of all minority ethnic groups of northern Nigeria, has threatened fire-for-fire with other northern based groups that are bent on fomenting trouble in the region.

Also, it is demanding from government, the contents of "Wikileaks ‘leaks’ "to clarify for us the revelation that government has set free all those who were arrested for planting bombs and had even confessed to killings in the name of religion and politics"

It gave this warning in a media briefing, just as President Goodluck Jonathan is mandating the Chief of Defence Staff, Chief Air Marshall Oluseyi Petinrin to take over internal security in Plateau state which has been going through security challenges for a while now.

The MBD said it has to come up with this warning so as to draw the attention of those behind the killings and bombings in parts of the north to note that "no single group has the monopoly of violence. Our silence and dependence on government does not mean that we are not capable of defending ourselves"

Addressing the media in his office, the Plateau state co-ordinator of MBD, Hon. Aminu Zang disclosed that MBD has noted with concern that in Plateau state in particular, the mass murder of villagers by Hausa\Fulani militia has now reached a frightening dimension and that must stop.

He noted further that the goals "of these jihadist is to drive them (indigenes) from their fertile ancestral lands "He wondered why the middle belt was being treated as if its not part of the north but yet each time the Hausa\Fulani will use it in order to achieve their selfish agenda.

In particular, the hatred towards Goodluck Jonathan during the pre-election period and even now, has shown that these crises being witnessed in the northern part was a ploy to make the country ungovernable for him, which they said it won’t work.

According to MBD, what the Boko Haram sect is planning is to cause a state of total insecurity, social chaos and underdevelopment in Nigeria to give its backers enough reason for the destabilization of the government because the far north was against the Presidency.

"The hatred for the new government is manifest by deranged groups, who want sharia form of government imposed on the entire country. Anything short of this and Nigeria can as well burn", Zang stressed.

It then called on the federal government to show "genuine commitment to protecting lives and property of Nigerians and securing the middle belt region".

Further, it stated that the "great losers in the end of this barbarism would be the entire north, because as long as the north believe that terror is the best means to force its minorities to support it, the more it misses the mark" even as it declared its beginning its 2015 campaigns for the Presidential election and has no doubt it will produce the next President "GOD’S" grace.

Will be interesting to see the Middle Belt face off with their big brothers up North. I dey laugh ohh!!!

Some middle belters swear fire and brimstone they are not Northerners.

Which should we believe

Today it's Middle Belt Dialogue (what type of name is that for a group), tommorow Middle Belt Discussing, yesterday it was Middle Belt Forum, and guess what, talk talk and more talk.

The core is everyday marginalising her self from the rest of Nigerians.

I do not see the Middle Belt doing anything. The North will laugh at this threat. I dey laugh as well!

The northern Nigeria’s feudalistic and Islamic Oligarchy fooled most of the so-called Nigerians to join hands in fighting Biafra. They knew Nigeria will never be a united front any longer because of the war. The next war shall resemble the herding of cows.

I have nothing good to offer the so-called Middle Belt people but laugh. Some of the senior military officers from Middle Belt were killed in January 15, 1966 coup due their services to NPC in killing fellow tribes men during Tiv riot 1964. Did they not join the Islamic feudalists to precipitate war of attrition against Biafra?
