I am usually critical of Naija but if these pictures show us the worst of the effects of the rain, then it is a non issue! Blown down trees is not the fault of the government and the roads are not flooded, just a lot of water which will can be expected during torrential rainfalls and it probably cleared in an hour or two.

Ridiculous. Nice city, nice building, nice garden but POOR drainage.

Everybody is just mentioning GEJ, IS there no minister in ranks for environment??

Nobody from the environmental ministry has escalated any issue of non availability of fund to carry out their functions, yet we all point fingers to GeJ all the time. He has a Cabinet, and I think Federalism has to do with collective responsibility right from the federal level to the local govt.levels. Besides let question the minister of FCT on this undecided undecided undecided

Fokativ:

Yeah, just like Yar'dua, OBJ, Abubakar, Abacha, IBB, Buhari, and all the other rogues who have 'ruled' Nigeria.
The basic design plan for Abuja is faulty according to Awolowo, the problem didn't even start today.
Apart from this avoidable flood, don't forget too that the city planners also forget that people who live there would need adequate water supply, etc.
Re: Pictures Of Some Areas After Monday Night Heavy Rainfall In Abuja by emcaluv(m): 12:09pm On Sep 22, 2011
What has the Flood in Abuja got to do with GEJ? Most of you need to grow up. If the volume of water due to rainfall is more than the capacity the drainage can accommodate, then the road will be over-flooded.

Developed countries like China, US, Japan e.t.c. have experienced terrible floods this year.

GEJ uprooted the trees too.

Soon we will hear that GEJ made you not to satisfy your w, fe if you are married at all. Stupid!

so did our satellites inform us of an impending HURRICANE or TYPHOON as some people want to believe occurred in the pictures, ?

Even if the satellites informed you, what would you have done?
At highs you'll have an emergency response team ready, or can you measure the accurate falls and also estimate its damages? undecided undecided

You slow poke people are too irrational for my liking, you just wait to criticise everything in a blunt manner, haba! undecided

Assuming u are correct,
was the Ministers for Environment appointed by me or u?
Does the Environ Minister report to u and I?

Even at that, if the Minister of environ does something good, who will take the credit
if not GEJ and FG?

Don't you know the procedures?

We vote GEJ into power

He nominates people for his cabinet

They go through senate clearing

Senate clears whoever they deem fit

Jonathan appoints him.

He appoints his own team up to the local level.

Lets for once hold this people from the lower level, they might take advantage of our blames on the central level most times. undecided
