FRENCH AS A SECOND LANGUAGE PROGRAM

People to People International–Nigeria in cooperation with Embassy of France (Cooperation and Cultural Section) proudly presents French as a Second Language (FSL) Program specially designed for both students and young professionals above the age of 18yrs who are interested to boost their French language proficiencies, further their education in Europe especially France and willingness to take advantage of working in multinational companies and international institutions such as UN agencies, international NGOs, foundation etc.

French as a Second Language (FSL) Program is a unique way of enhancing cross-cultural communication, educational and cultural exchanges, rare opportunity to make friend with members of diplomatic corps of the Embassy. FSL Program will bring together the following:

 Participants (Students and young professionals)
 Trainers (from Alliance Francaise)
 Diplomat Corps (French Embassy)

OBJECTIVES/PURPOSES

 To enhance international education and cross-cultural communication.
 To build capacity of French speaking Nigerians
 To reduce language barrier between Nigerians and her neighboring Francophone countries.

The French as a Second Language Program is divided into two events namely:
1. FSL Seminar
2. FSL training courses

FSL SEMINAR PROGRAM

The FSL Seminar will hold as follows:

ARE YOU AWARE?
In France, tuition fee are almost free for international students (Eligibility criteria include understanding of French language)

In most multinational institutions such as UN agencies, having knowledge of French language is an added advantage towards employment.

FSL TRAINING PROGRAM

The FSL Training Program is a six-week intensive learning to be facilitated by a group of well experienced tutors from the Alliance Francaise, Lagos. A total of 72 hours will be expended per session.

The FSL Training will commence as stated below:
Start Date: September 24th September, 2007
Venue: Alliance Francaise, Lagos
Ikoyi or Yaba Centre
Days: Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays

OTHER ACTIVITIES
Though, a seriously learning environment is what we are looking towards during FSL training. Nevertheless, Incorporated with the FSL Training Program is MEET THE DIPLOMAT program that will give participants the rare opportunity for interaction and connection with members of French Embassy.

At the end of the entire FSL Training session, Participants will receive:
1. Course materials (folder, written and audiovisual items)
2. FSL Certificate
3. FSL T-shirt/cap + free PTPI membership (a year only)
4. Attend PTPI/French Embassy Meet The Diplomat program (FSL Training participants only)
5. Participate in International Exchange Program to France (Qualified candidates only).

NB: For the FSL Training, Limited seat of 30 participants available!

 People who want to widen their scope on a higher horizon, and explore
opportunities through language learning program.
 People who seek employment in multinational companies and institutions
 People who wish to further their study in Europe especially France.
 People who want to carve a niche for themselves
 PTPI members and people above the age of 18yrs.

HOW TO PARTICIPATE
Interested individuals who want to attend the FSL seminar and training should send in their Expression of Interest by email to: educ@peopletopeople.org.ng or ptplagos@yahoo.com with subject: FSL Program Participation on or before 10th of September 2007. Details should include your educational background, employment status and motivation.

Seminar only Seminar+Training
PTPI member - N3,500 N25,000
PTPI Non-member - N5,000 N30,000

DEADLINE:
Early Bird Registration: 11th September, 2007 (10% Discount on Training only)
Late Bird Registration: 18th September, 2007
