Please what was the total cost for the ivf in india including accommodation and all and please share the name of the hospital

Hi,

Am sorry for the late response.

If my memory doesn't fail me the cost for the ivf was between $2,500 to $3,000 (excluding drugs), which summed up to about $1,200 *but bear in mind drugs differ for everyone*

The name of the Hospital is called (JILLA HOSPITAL) you can google it up for more information.
I was refered by my doctor who is also Indian, and I reside in the middle-east, Dubai to be precise which is just 3hrs plus to India so ticket was very very cheap (about $280 return per person).

The accommodation is inclusive in the hospital bill buttttttttt it's in the hospital compound and it's not fancy, just like a normal hosp room, thou private room with attached toilet & bathroom and electronics.

Lastly feeding in India was a nightmare as I don't like Indian meals at all, unlike my husband so I was basically on fruits and fast food.

You might need to weigh your options well, I opted for it because of my Doctors recommendation and it was quite close.

Wishing you your BFP soonest!

Thanks for the replies. I was made to understand that most clinics will have the woman fly back the very next day as this minimizes the risks.

@larryb12 Hi Ma, I am currently under going my first cycle of IVF and I am doing here in Nigeria at The Bridge Clinic. I had decided to do it in the USA but I changed my mind. I would recommend the clinic as the staff invest a lot of love and compassion to assisting us future mamas. My point is, even though your mind is made up on India, also consider the options available and the support and love you can receive from loved ones and family during your journey. I do pray and wish you all the best. *Baby dust unto you*

cheesy cheesy cheesy, India is something else, Nigeria is Las Vegas compared to India, the hospital has 2 branches, one in Mumbai and the other is in a smaller city called (Aurangabad) it's a 50min flight time from Mumbai.

I used the smaller city branch because that's what my Doctor here choose, but if I had my way Mumbai would have been better, but the catch is the Dr. (Jilla) lives in the smaller city branch and Accommodation was free, my Doctor felt being closer to the Dr was better too.

The $1,200 is just drugs but it can be wayyyyy lower or higher depending on the patient, while hospital bill was $3,000 totaling $4,200.
It might be lower or higher depending on each patient.

India is known as the medical destination worldwide and I saw that from the procedure I had, with God on our side.

I had to travel to the US 5 days after the procedure so as to be with my Mum for proper care and rest, which made me use hospitals in the US for my first antenatal and sincerely I will choose Indian Doctors over American Doctors hands down as the Indian docs know their onions.

But in all God makes the final decision. I know every mother on this thread shall get their BFP soonest.

Ist. Sorry for the failed cycles.
2nd . U should ask your doc questions. If he dosent answer or dosent manage u enough to prescribe drugs, pls ditch him.
Finally. There are several drugs your doc could prescribe depending on your history.
P*rogesterone is The most common.
Baby A*spirin to aid implantation.
L*ovenox for same purpose and prevent immune reaction (more common in ivf)

Hi fruitful mammas , hubby has been diagnosed of low sperms count. Please how can he improve it and which hospital do you suggest we go for proper treatment so that his count can increase. His count is presently at 2MM. I do not have any issues so far from all the tests carried out. I feel his spermcount could be what is delaying us from conceiving. Please fellow mama's, what drug can he take to boost spermcount or do we go for IVF. Thank you.

Hello gambros. A sperm count of 2MM is quite low. But thanks to advancement in modern medicine, there are solutions. You could consider doing IMSI.

Intracytoplasmic Morphologically Selected Injection (IMSI) is one of the latest advancements in the treatment of male infertility.
In IMSI, sperms are magnified more than 6,000 times in order to be able to select the best sperms. Pregnancy rates approach 60% and rates of miscarriage is reduced by 75%. Indication.

I will advise you visit Nordica Fertility Centre since they are the pioneers of this technology in West Africa. In addition to IMSI, they have also introduced the cutting edge PICSI Dish for Sperm Selection technology. So, Nordica seems the best bet for your hubby's case.

Wishing you all the best.

my husband sperm count was 2m at start then later 5milion. so i bought fertilaid count boost and motility boost, also ruzu herbal bitters for the staph infection he had. As at the last SFA we di his count has incresed to 19million with motility of 48%

The success rate for infertility treatments depends on a variety of factors from initial control and testing, to the medication prescribed, the procedure chosen, the experience of the medical team and the equipment used. This is what the center in Cyprus told us during my sister's IVF treatment. The treatment was a successful one and we definitely recommend the center. Just want to give credit and give our thanks to North Cyprus IVF Clinic for taking care of my sister and providing the best service and the result we wanted. So if anyone of you here plans to undergo such treatment you may check North Cyprus IVF Clinic's online profile here... http://www.placidway.com/profile/2053/North-Cyprus-IVF

You are absolutely correct.

When someone seeks advice on this forum, what he or she needs is genuine and objective advise and not masked salesmanship. It is obvious to me that all IVF/Fertility threads on nairaland have been taken over by agents of various Fertility clinics who do nothing than to bad mouth their competitors and hype their principals.

I mean, how can someone recommend a "sperm booster" for someone with a sperm count of 2MM when any medical person knows that there is practically no scientific proof of efficacy of such drugs. Another danger of this prescription is that it runs the risk of making the person concern waste valuable time on these drugs while the sperm count deteriorate.

However, what irks me the most is when I see a certain Dr. Emeka promoted as the best thing that has happened to the Nigeria infertility management field. I mean this Dr. Emeka is not even a qualified gynaecologist! In a sane clime, someone like that will not be allowed to advertise himself as a fertility specialist because, he is not. Simple. But unfortunately, so many Nigerians must have fallen victim of his false and fabricated expertise on Nairaland.

My advise is that people should "befriend Google' and get fertility information from objective and credible sources. Below are the sources I will recommend:

http://www.resolve.org/?referrer=https://www.google.com.ng/ (The biggest infertility support group in the world. the site has loads and loads of resources)
http://hms.harvard.edu/
http://www.webmd.com/infertility-and-reproduction/guide/choosing-a-fertility-clinic
http://www.hopkinsmedicine.org/fertility/
http://www.mayoclinic.org/search/search-results?q=infertility

I am not a doctor but as someone who battled infertility for 6 years before God finally answered my prayers, I experienced all sorts of shenanigans and will not want any other person to experience such

1. Ist person said she started treatment with bridge but dosent know the costs.
2. 2nd person refers a low sperm count patient straight to nordica IMSI
3. 3rd person says north cyprus said shii so look them up. ( I have tried north cyprus btw with a bfn)
All these agents. For the love of God!

Ok now, e don happen.

We have so many agents on this site, so many and it just gets me upset. If your "Boss" is really a good fertility doctor, allow his/her work to speak for him/her.

You don't come here under the guise of "saying a testimony" and then put out some well crafted lies to draw people to him/her.

On Dr. Emeka, yes I have used him before, I have referred people to him too. I wasn't totally pleased with my treatment but that is expected. No 100% for me. I don't know if he is a gynaecologist so I can't confirm that but I know he is a good fertility doctor though these days he is not as"sympathetic or friendly" as he was during the period Blendy recommended him.

Being or not being a gynaecologist does not make him a good our bad fertility doctor. Dr. Penny of SERUM Greece is not a gynae but she is a very good fertility doctor and has good success rate. She also works with gynaes for some procedures which she needs a gynae for.

What I am totally against is if you say you are a gynae when you are not?

Anyway, May God answer all our prayers. All these Drs sef.

Fortunately and unfortunately ttc is in itself crazy, the reality is that the cost of doing business in Nigeria is very high and like most business owners they just take advantage of people everyone wants to make money, some few years ago i wanted to use Dr Ashiru and i was told he was not a gynae,i still do not know how far this is true but another doctor told me you do not have to be a gynae to do IVF,Fertility specialist and gynae are two diffrent things completely, the reason why most gynaes do ivf in Nigeria is because it's quick money.
I have used Emeka before and i do not know if he is a gynae a not even me with the little experience i have now with ivf i can decide to start.I have been treated in the past by someone who never went to study medicine at all and he does fibroid surgery for people ,of cos my sixth sense told me to run for my dear life.

If you have been lucky to get pregnant through ivf in Nigeria,i say congratulations, some of us are not lucky yet,if you work for yourself and you can afford to go outside the shores of Nigeria, please do while i do not really have anything against any of them i just feel most of them are more interested in collecting your money than carrying your child. Why would a clinic for instance tell me to pay NGN5mm for several tries,i get the impression this FS don't even do their best to make it work the first time

TTc is bad enough,if you are an agent on this platform tell your bosses to show some care to their patient, there are cheaper options, india, egypt and SA.My friend got her BFP in egypt after several attempts in Naija, ultimately it is God but agents should please pretend to care at the least.I want to leave my job but the only thing keeping me on the job is ivf money.Very soon Ivf will become so so cheap ,it's a matter of time

And if you can adopt or use surrogate please do cos we are not getting younger and we just need to move on with our lives and stop putting our lives on gold.

Hi.

Interesting things I'm reading there this afternoon.

I used Dr. Emeka. This August actually and yes, it was excellent and amazing! I got my first BFP and it was my first attempt plus I got EXCELLENT service and I learnt about him from Blendy here. I don't know if he is a gynaecologist but I know I did my research on some of his qualifications on the Internet before I visited.

I understand we all have different experiences with people but I was excited to share my experience with peeps looking to try it IVF here. I am still very excited to talk about Dr. Emeka and his work. My friend who had her procedure after me also got a BFP so hey, why shouldn't I be excited to share?

P.S: I'm nobody's agent. I had a previous username on Nairaland with a history of some of my work and achievements which have made front page and that's why I opened this new id to protect my anonymous mode.

@ HD yes Dr Emeka does provide excellent service no doubt but it's ok to let people air their views, let's not take anything personal.I am currently doing a training on customer experience so people do have various experiences,i have also used an FS that everyone i know used him has gotten bfp and i still have not.(However i got a diagnosis i have never gotten from another FS with him )If it was before i would have said the FS is not good but IVf is a game of numbers,i just think people's expectation should be properly managed. If u are lucky to get a bfp at the first attempt good for you,if i use an herbalist for ivf and get bfp after my first attempt i probably will worship the herbalist
I used Dr Emeka in 2013 and i still called him this year,he did not pick but he later returned my call and i was shocked when he called my full names on the phone and that really blew my mind away but not everyone has pleasant experience.Let people be free to make informed decision
Let's just say sometimes patients and drs have their bad days ,i am a service specialist myself and there are times i want to slap my customer.
There are IVF clinics i do not think i want to ever visit but people are getting results there so y not?

I agree with what most of what you have said in terms of customer's experience. I also do not think I have hindered anyone's right to free speech, expression, or power to make individual decisions in anyway.

My response was:

1. Solely based on my personal experience with him.
2. I acknowledged the fact that people have different experiences with others like you rightly expressed.
3. Someone referred to people who use him as victims and I beg to differ based on my experience. Result is what matters and I have it.
4. To clarify that I am not in anyway an agent of anyone. I can't even be if they wanted to pay me for it...

God used him for me because Blendy shared her experience with him here. I'm simply doing the same...

I am compelled to speak again.....I really must, beacuse I am irked by falsehood or deliberate misinformation.

This forum, like others, useful or meaningful when it is used to share experiences.... Honest experiences.

Advertisers come also, pay and place their targeted ads. usually as headers or footers.

I am therefore alarmed @ cocoafarmer, who sounds like he or she is an authority on Dr EMEKA. I quote "who do nothing than to bad mouth their competitors and hype their principals". What are you then doing by bad mouthing Dr Emeka. He wasn't who asked anyone to take a sperm booster.

@cocoafarmer again : you are particularly irked!!! who are you? you claim you are not a doctor, but suffered 6years of difficulty in having a child.
I think you should be fair, I dont know if Dr EMEKA is a gynaecologist or not (But to my hearing I dont think he has ever claimed to be one) and a cursory look at their website www.olivebranchhm.com shows there is an advertised gynaecologist there within their unit even if he is not.

That clinic is run by a team, not him alone and if you have been there or experienced their care (I sincerely doubt this), you could never have written this.

Itissettled3 is absolutely correct in the US for example the RE s(reproductive endocrinologists) run fertility management

Dr Emeka never claimed anything,we like many others went there to see him.

You would do us all a better service if you share your story if you were aggrieved by Dr Emeka while under his care ... share your experience... thats what this forum is for rather than all the veiled negativity your comments carry.

I make bold to say I, me and my wife became patients with his clinic after reading about the Dr Emeka and his team HERE and there was nothing unprofessional during our experience with them, so if I was a victim as you claim, I would rather be one as we have our baby now.

I want to also state that you belittle all of us who have been assisted there..... and we are many, I tell you. At crestview scan centre when we went for the NT scan, there were three others from this same Olive branch meaning we all conceived at the same time.Go there and confirm. I can provide the dates. at least they are independent and are doctors.

So Cocoafarmer by all means weed out "agents" and false witnesses from this forum, but as regards Dr Emeka....You need to go there to the Clinic, go there speak to any of the staff there or him you will realise that the aspersions you are casting are wasted or premeditated......

My humble submission.

@DavNDA whilst I do not hold brief for cocoa I have to align with the earlier submission of itissettled as well as cocoa's point that there has been some coded marketing and advertising here.
Imagine a person asking for solution about low sperm count and somebody 'innocently' mention's a hospital's iMsi and even has a link.
Though @Cocoa it seems u have a personal grievance with this Dr Emeka that u had to create a new moniker for him cheesy . Please share your issue with him. Or is it a case of failed ivf/iui? Do share please

@Cocoafarmer, it seems you have a personal grievance about Dr. Emeka. He is a human who has his inadequacies but he is an awesome person and I will continue to recommend him to people who are struggling with infertility.

Dr. Emeka has never told anyone he is a gynaecologist and you don't need to be one to be a fertility expert. I rather go to a fertility expert than a gynaecologist if I'm faced with fertility issues. That's your best bet.

I used his clinic after 2 failed attempts at St. Ives and got 3 beautiful babies . God used him to give my husband and I a beautiful 10th year anniversary present. Biko, state your pains with him.

Ha mama triplets, Since I asked for you to tell us what you did differently, we no see you brake light. Cocoafarmer has drawn You out.
Lol. Just kidding. I know You have been very busy with the children. How are You and how are they ma? May God continually make them a blessing to your home.

@cocoafarmer might have been hurt by Dr. Emeka before or by something that happened. We are all different and have different levels of tolerance.

To the marketers/agents here, I know all of You. No matter the tricks, I know You. God is watching You eh. Using someone's pain to make money, it is well.

I am just tired of this roller coaster ride, the monies spent, the pain I have gone through. DH the other day said I am now bitter towards everyone. I can't even pray again. God please help me, help everyone here seeking for this miracle. Wipe our secret and open tears, heal our heart and heal our homes in Jesus Mighty Name, Amen.

And yes, it is GOD who gives children, only GOD. Drs are only instruments in his hands, so please before you choose a dr, pray and ask him for directions.

A friend's cousin on this thread used an unknown clinic and got her quads there, my friend used a man who didn't have a clinic for hers and got her BFP. I laughed at her during her treatment cos today they are at this scan centre, tomorrow another place, egg retrieval venue was changed 2 times, remaining embryos discarded cos they couldn't transport to a place to store it but today she is pregnant.

So newbies, read peoples testimonies, learn from it, make a list and then pray well.
