I support that, but every thing in life has priority, let him prioritise by first providing the necessary and condusive environment, can't he reduce the recurrent expenditure and channel the fund into developing the nation infrastructures |

Re: Do You Support The Removal Of Fuel Subsidy (poll) by olawalebabs(m): 4:25pm On Oct 18, 2011 |
That's one of the reason, people are against the call for any 'subsidy' removal. What about the PEF (petroleum equalization Fund) |
Re: Do You Support The Removal Of Fuel Subsidy (poll) by tkb417(m): 4:38pm On Oct 18, 2011 |
Akanbi_edu:and you think an Oil producing State that imports Fuel should be trusted with subsidy removal? errrm, if this Govt cannot be trusted to slash the bogus recurrent expenditure, why should we sing along to this macabre dance? Fuel subsidy is a cost to be borne by a useless Government that has left the basics undone No no to the removal |

Your vote here ain't gonna do anyfin, If posting here changes policies, GEJ would have been smarter by now, Boko-Harams wuld have realized that they are animals and would have returned to the jungle, The fuel subsidy wouldn't be a topic anymore, corrupt politicians would have repented, BEAF would have been arrested for knowing the truth that his Bro GEJ is and eediot and he is still supporting him, Gbenga daniel, Alao Akala and the other thieves would still be in prison, etc, But my vote wouldn't change anyfin, but only entertain and inform us about happenings as that is the reason why N/L was created, So i wouldn't say that you shouldn't vote, I only wish that the votes actually counts |

^Actually this isn't a voting matter per se but come next year you can resist this move by going on strike. I'm pretty certain thats how Labour will respond unless they are spineless. |

U guys dont know anything yet, once the subsidy has been removed, another cabal will be the one to benefit from it agin then they will stop all Nigerians from using petrol inside their car and generators, cos there is a cabal that has snatched the process from them again.Lazy thinkers we have in Nigeria |
Re: Do You Support The Removal Of Fuel Subsidy (poll) by koolman: 5:47pm On Oct 18, 2011 |
No. all we need to do is to start refining fuel ourselves and there will be no need for importation and no need for subsidy. |

Re: Do You Support The Removal Of Fuel Subsidy (poll) by Nobody: 6:32pm On Oct 18, 2011 |
you need to google how much other countries pay for same, even thou nigeria pays alot less than some countries we still pay more than others (i should think thats the benefit of having the crude) but thats besides the point, before we as nigerians agree to the removal, first we need to be sure that this subsidy thing is real in the first place and second we need a list of the people that the governments (present & previous) have been paying this subsidies to. i surely do not see how people will survive with its removal. people are dying as it is no health care system no good schools no road no electricity no water no public service aka civil servants no transportation system no border security no governance and as we r witnessing now no military no security etc. the "we dont haves" are much more than the "we haves" both in people as well as infrastructure and basic day to day amenities and the list goes on and on, do we really wanna go down this path? |

If you were an investor and you calculate that buying crude oil at international rate and refining would cost you about N70 per litre of petrol, would you still invest your money when there is someone out there subsidizing the cost of importing the same product and making sure that selling price remained at N65 or less ? It is not by accident that we do not have private refineries in Nigeria. If we must have fuel subsidy, we must also have guaranteed crude oil subsidy for private investors to ensure growth in oil sector. The refineries are not working at full capacity because of the round tripping and racketeering that goes on with the "subsidy". Remove the subsidy now ! |

Sir who is suppose to stop the above ? me or you. Why is it that when things get to Nigeria it becomes very hard to achieve, and yet some people come here to defend mediocrity and lack of direction. Can someone pls tell me why they give president GCFR etc etc cos to me it seems to mean u become powerless when you are decorated with it |

As oshiomhole once said in his speech, the amount of people that are ready to stand and defend Democracy is becoming smaller by the day and that is a dangerous scenario. Imagine if one military man wakes up today and say FELLOW NIGERIANS blah blah blah blah , am sure the only set of people that will probably complain is the elite and politicians, which shouldnt be so cos the real strength behind any system is the people and not politicians. |
Re: Do You Support The Removal Of Fuel Subsidy (poll) by olawalebabs(m): 7:57pm On Oct 18, 2011 |
He is saying the truth because as am seeing it, this democracy is only for the elite, with little or nothing for the masses |
Re: Do You Support The Removal Of Fuel Subsidy (poll) by Nobody: 10:21pm On Oct 18, 2011 |
Mr. GEJ please rethink your plan to remove the subsidy because it's not for the benefit of Nigerians but for few elites in your government, what about the subsidy that has been remove from diesel what can we point that your government do with the fund, if u want to run your YOUWIN run it diligently not to the cost of the poor citizens of Nigeria, beside u can divert all the money government agencies have been collecting from looters to this your plan for the youths, starting from the billion billion Ribadu collected to Waziri ask them where they kept it they will tell you, then use it judiciously, because if u remove it and petrol (PMS) is been sell at N143 per liter that mean the hair cut we get now at N200 will rise to N600 or N700 because someone foolish people too will start taking advantages of it, transportation fee will triple the prices, u remember the agbero, food prices will increase dramatically, Nigeria will be up and down. |

Subsidy is the only thing the poor nigerians can benefit from the system but the government is taking it away from them.We are talking about removing subsidy yet the house of reps plans to buy vehicles worth #2.5 billion, same people that earn about #30million monthly while corruption is looming everywhere.why is nobody attacking the rich like it's being done in US ? Why can't the rich people be taxed in Nigeria too ? |
