The movie industry has always been more lucrative than the music industry since day one. Imagine James Cameron making $2 billion from one single movie Avatar within two years! Release date(s) December 10, 2009 (2009-12-10) (London premiere) December 18, 2009 (2009-12-18) (United States) Running time 162 minutes 171 minutes (Re-release Country United States Language English Budget $237 million Box office $2,782,275,172 No LP can even make that in 50 years. All the LPs of The Beatles and Michael Jackson combined never made that. In Nigeria, one movie made over N60 million within a year in Nigeria alone. No Nigerian LP can make that amount even in three years.

Go to forbes.com and you will find out that in every top ten ranking whether men or women entertainers, you will find that no movie star made it. you find that the top 10 has talk show hosts, reality show and at least 4 musicians and even book writers (surprisingly) check out the entertainment highest earning women on http://www.forbes.com/sites/dorothypomerantz/2011/10/04/entertainments-highest-earning-women/ You will find Opera on top, Lady gaga, katy perry, beyoncy also made the top 10. i could not find any movie star like Angelina Jolie on top 10. |

With music, it depends on whether you are just a performer or are a composer/writer too. OP on what ground?? The movie industry favors the EP (Executive Producers) while the music industry is an individual tin and that makes your post not clear |
Re: Movie Industry Vs Music Industry by blackmale(m): 12:40am On Oct 27, 2011 |
go for music first, if it doesnt work try movie, if both Bleep up, politics wont dissappoint you, |
Re: Movie Industry Vs Music Industry by Nobody: 1:58am On Oct 27, 2011 |
It depends on where OP is talking about. In Nigeria, the music industry is more lucrative, not in terms of record sales but as a result of income from shows and performance. Nollywood actors end up singing or at least try to. In the states, it's vice versa. |
