Sequel to the Executive Vice Chairman of the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC), Dr. Eugene Juwah advocacy for the control of content that appears on the internet, the website of EFCC www.efccnigeria.org has been hacked by Naija Cyber Activists This is what the hackers called their 'Official Press Release" which was left on the homepage of EFCC, after hacking it OPERATION: #SayNoToInternetCensorship
It was reported in the dailies that the Executive Vice Chairman of the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC), Dr. Eugene Juwah, has advocated the control of content that appears on the internet.
WE will do everything within Our Powers to make sure this Odious thought doesn't materialize.
Who is this “we” you may ask and why should you listen to them? Well, we are your friends and family. Your neighbors, your workers, your coworkers. We are every person who you’ve seen on the street and on television. We are everyone, a collective conscious who can see much further than your nearsighted laws.
The forces endeavoring to belittle and undermine the freedom of the internet are 'bout being conceptualized.
Never before has there been a greater challenge to freedom of information, liberty and civilization. Delay invites great danger.
The internet is a platform for freedom, a place where anyone and everyone can come together, discuss topics, and share information, without the fear of government interference.
It is clear that the government takes us for fools.
It is clear that they would rather block all chance of expression of the african youth's aspirations for change.
it is clear that when the revolution starts, they will force the telecoms companies off the air to prevent us from communication, we will plan for that.
It is clear that at some point, MTN and the rest will start keeping tabs on us to make it easier to convict us.
It is clear that any incidents that may happen to us will not become national news because NTA will not report it.
It is clear that though preachers of virtue but when the s.hit hits the fan (subsidy), CAN will sanction our suffering.
It is clear that though trumpeters of goodwill, the same leaders will still embarass us in foreign lands with schoolboy antics like little truants.
It is clear that they will give with one hand ( minimum wage increase) and take with another hand (subsidy reduction).
That is clear
But It is also clear that we shall take this fight to them. It is also clear that when this oppressive law starts, those who CAN will destroy whatever hindrances they may put in place.
{website defacement is all you have seen, its not all we can do.}
It is also clear that they can track us but they can never stop us. It is our duty to show them that they can track one person but they can never track an idea. It is our duty to show them that they can assassinate one man but not a million. It is our duty to show them that Ghadaffi will die again in this country, if they will not learn. It is OUR duty to show that they may dim the lights, but this spark will NEVER go out.
Any effort made to Censor the Internet will therefore result to a state of war between NaijaCyberHactivists (with well meaning Nigerians on our side) and the Nigerian Government should they find themselves so inclined to impose censorship upon the internet.
WE USING THIS MEDIUM TO #SayNoToInternetCensorship
We, NaijaCyberHactivists, will not stand by and let this go unnoticed.
We Are From The Internet EXPECT US!
