Slab for 2 story portion has been poured and covered with a curing blanket.

Excavation for the largest pile cap is in progress. So as you can see, the piles are drilled from grade, and then they are uncovered up to the depth of the pile cap. The most labor intensive part of this installation is chipping the piles down to the bottom of the cap. See pictures.

Formwork for shear walls have arrived on site.

We have uncovered all the piles that support one set of elevators. The next step is to chip the piles down to the bottom, then reinforcing steel will be installed for this huge cap.

Installation of structural steel at the 2-story portion of the project has started. This process should last for two weeks pending weather conditions. The picture shows the steel members on the ground and the small crane used for installation. Some of the steel members are already standing on the slab.

The concrete walls for the elevators and the stairs will be constructed first before the installation of steel for the 10 story building begins. steel installation at the 2 story section is still in progress. Pictures coming soon!

Now the real fun begins, Formwork for one of the elevator towers is going up, There are 2 elevator towers and one stairwell tower.

The elevator towers are constructed first and then the structural steel follows. The towers shoould be completed within 14 weeks.

As you can see the first lift of the elevator tower has been poured and stripped. Moving on to the 2nd lift. Notice the three towers in the picture. They will all have to be completed before the structural steel begins.

Wow!! That's a huge project you have at your hand and I must you have been progressing at a good pace. I would like to thank you for your regular posts and pics providing a very much detailed information about the construction. I'll be making a point to be closely  following this from now on. There are a plenty of things that one cold come to terms with over here. Keep the good work going.

This construction is organised and the way you use pix to explain the progress makes the building very easy but the fact is that so much of labour and brain work have gone into it!

@atasteve, You are very correct. Good planning is key to successful execution. We should always measure ten times and cut once, instead of measuring once and cutting 10 times. thanks for the encouraging words.

@ story addition is making progress. All slabs have been poured and we are noew starting the exterior framing.
