. . .and Dangote now worths over $10b? Obj and co, I dey hail una o!
Re: 40 Richest Men In Africa! New List! by Grassroot: 7:57am On Nov 17, 2011
I wonder why Mo Ibrahim is not on that list. The former Celtel owner is worth $1.8 billion.
Re: 40 Richest Men In Africa! New List! by Nobody: 8:07am On Nov 17, 2011
Interesting to know Egyptian el-Fayed that was once competing with the likes of Bill Gates 2 decades has dropped so low.

List appears agreeable, only surprise omission being Otedola. I know he is undergoing difficult period but never knew he's been so hit.

Jimoh Ibrahim may not make Nigeria's Top 40, not to talk of Africa's Top 40. Billionaires are not by mouth.

This list reflects the political landscape of Nigeria post Biafra war and the main ethnic groups that have instituted the demise of Nigeria via enriching themselves at the expense of the poor.

I am proud that my Igbo people are not represented in this list as amongst the Oligarchy of Nigeria. We pride ourselves in surviving on our ingenuity and sweat not oil loot or monopolising industries via governmental aid.

Not at all, Ojukwu will forever be an icon of Ndiigbo. The main point of the Oligarchy system is having a small group of people control wealth and power in a system were the masses are subservient. Igbo's have no king as the saying famously goes; meaning we are no worshippers of men.

We all strive to attain a certain standard of life independently but in the cases pointed out above and like its their culture, one man is made king to be forever followed and unchallenged in a system where the masses are his slaves.

U might have more generals but we have the most numbers of senior officers(Colonel) and the highest level of HDI.

Aha brother you dont need to say this. Pls if Souhteast are there or not I dont see reason why people turn it to regional issue the list said Africa richest men and that is all. Beside those few Nigerians that appear on the list like person of Dangote and Adenuga are listed among world class billionaire I mean the Forbes and you know noone can not make that list trough fraudlent or through backdoor so please lets celebrate them instead of we trying to tribalised the whole lot. Pls dont take it personal this is just my view.

All these internet supporters club sef. For the Nigerians, how have your champions regardless of location touched the lives of people in their zones?
I think the Igbos will still carry the day when it it comes to wider spread or distribution of wealth.
Unlike the other regions, Igbos on the average, basically have a higher standard of living. You don't find extreme poverty amongst them like you find in other places.
Having said that, I think it is not a mean feat to achieve what those on the list have
