English players lack ball technique, it has been a teething problem for generations... Walcott, Chambo (to a lesser extent)and Jack Wilshere all lack ball skills to maneuver through defenders individually especially in tight spaces and the composure in all that pressure to create goal scoring opportunities for themselves or team mates.

Kudos to Giroud. He has improved and maybe he will continue to improve. However, I strongly feel our priority should be a top striker. Someone who can GUARANTEE us at least 25 goals a season (barring injuries). I believe that's one thing we've lacked this season.

As for DM, Coquelin has done really well. In fact, those who used to say we don't need a DM have now kept quiet because Coquelin has shown us what we lacked when it was just Arteta and Flamini. Two months ago, I would have asked for a DM too but now if money is an issue, I'm fine with Coquelin as DM and at worst, we can get him a back up (sell off Flamini and Arteta). If money is not an issue, well, I won't mind the French guy at Southampton.

GK - I really don't see AW bringing in a new GK unless one of Ospina or Szczesny leaves. Obviously I wouldn't mind us bringing in Cech or any of those world class GK but if we are being realistic, I expect us to continue with the 3 GKs we already have. If anything, we need to sell of Martinez. I've never really fancied him and even Macey at U21 level is a better GK (albeit with less experience).

So priority for me is a striker.

I agree a striker is needed but until a world class CB is gotten this team will still concede making efforts upfront useless..that's why I believe a CB is essential IF it is only one position

yesterday's game is a classic example. Did we lose the game because we couldn't score or because we didn't defend well? Similar thing happened in the 1st leg and we've had a few games like that this season.

Just as I mentioned, I defended him based on my rationalisations of the conditions he was working under (no money, bla bla bla). Now that those conditions have eased off, he certainly has no more excuses to make. Whether he decides to buy or brood, he has just got to hand us the EPL title next season or at least, as I mentioned, give it a genuine push.
