Last week, we discussed about humility towards God, our creator. Humility first must be practiced before God. If we cannot begin with humility towards the great Creator and Life giver, then we will fail in practicing humility in our other relationships. God’s indwelling Spirit (Holy Spirit) in one’s life becomes a challenge.

Luke 18:14
For everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, but the one who humbles himself will be exalted.

Therefore brethren, let us humble ourselves under the mighty hand of God, so that He may exalt us in due time in Jesus name.
Today let’s go deeper into the spirit of humility by focusing on how we can apply this character towards others. How we can be humble in our relationship with each other.

Ephesians 5:21
“Submit to one another out of reverence for Christ”

The above quote applies to the following relationships
• Wives and husbands
• Children and parents
• Extended family, friends, colleagues, bosses and strangers.

To be humble in relationship should not be out of fear but out of awe, admiration, worship, honour and respect towards God and our saviour Jesus Christ.

Colossians 3:14
ABOVE ALL, clothe yourselves with love, which binds us all together in PREFECT harmony.

I really like the above. It said without love which is the forbearer of the spirit of humility, all is vanity. Looking at the church today, I see the ‘spirit of self exaltation’ in operation. It functions under the guise of glorifying God. But by their fruits u shall know them. The devil is a liar. Jesus Christ our lord and saviour attained the highest possible position a human can ever reach. However he did not exalt himself (like Satan did and got chased out of heaven), but humbled himself. This deed gave him the name that was above all names. It made him KING of kings and LORD of lords.

There is a power that is released into the life of the humbled. Wizards and Witches will be confounded. A humble person will not intentionally offend the evil people. They will look for a fault but will not find it in a humble person.

The Word of God states clearly in Prov 26:2 “Like a fluttering sparrow or a darting swallow, an underserved curse will not land on its intended victim.”

PRAYER
I pray that today that you have chosen to be humble before God and your fellow human being, no curse, spell, evil machination or vexation shall have any effect over you in Jesus mighty name.
