This great festival has been hijacked by street urchins(mostly non lagosians) who see it as an avenue to loot, beg and intimidate the populace. The also fought and maimed yesterday. I hope these anomalies will be corrected by the next festival.

This year`s Adamu Orisha play, also known as Eyo festival was dedicated to Chief Yesufu Abiodun Oniru 1864-1984 and it took place at the Tafawa Balewa Square, in Lagos Nigeria on November 26, 2011.Thousands of people including foreigners all came out to watch the festival. Picture above shows the procession of Eyo in Tafawa Balewa Square on November 26, 2011

You can imagine them calling it idolatary! It is not wrong if its halloween, but anything african is termed evil. A people who has lost their identity, language and culture can never evolve. We need to celebrate who we are and we are Africans.
