I am really concerned about the way artist are being nominated for this so called Grammy award and the criteria. In my opinion, in what ever way and criteria, Tuface Idibia should fit in as the best African artist.

When it comes to African Music, Tuface is no one in term of success,being accepted,in content and achievements.

Why would he not be nominated for such award if its credible?

^^^Tuface hasn't been nominated for a Grammy b'cos it's a credible award, with judges that actually know what good music is, unlike these kobo-kobo/two-a-dime African/Nigerian awards. "Best in Africa" indeed.

I can't think of any of his songs that's deserving of a Grammy if i'm to be honest.

@bilms and @eleshin, like you two have said, Tuface is the best out of africa(based on popularity and all) but then there is no category specifically for africans only (yet) and the kind of music Tuface does can't be considered in the World Music category, think more like , Femi Kuti, King Sunny Ade etc

@ Op: Have you taken the time to study the Grammy Awards, who gives out the awards, what categories of awards are up for grabs, etc, before posting?

As some posters have said,there's no category for Best African Act in the Grammy. Except you want him to be contesting for R n B with Bruno Mars

I have thought like that too before but got to know later that GRAMMY is strictly an AMERICAN Award although they created other categories like Gospel , Reggae and Wold Music Categories. Under World Music category in which u have since Femi Kuti 3 times and King Sunny Ade, Tuface can't be put there not because he does not deserve it but because of his genre of music. Femi Kuti sings Afro-beat only, Sunny sings Juju only some other people sing Makosa, Salsa, Samba, etc Tuface sings hiphop, Afro hiphop, reggae, Afrobeat, Highlife etc. He is good and deserve the award but must either sign up with one American Record Label or stick to one of the above-listed genre-reggae, Afrobeat, juju,samba,makosa, etc. But for talent, 2 baba na king.

2face is a popstar,regardless of whether he sings hiphop,blues,rap,afrohip,etc.....Check Michael Jackson for example...Check Akon....Its a matter of being talented....You dont expect someone to be singing Rnb Rnb Rnb,while he can stil sing hiphop nd other genre's and still Wow their fans..Mind u,he still has bills to pay and Audience to entertain.......What ever happened to Diversity!!
Point is,2face has done Songs that deserve Grammy Awards,but the point is that,it is not an African Thing....Whether you want to believe it or not,2face is Africa's Biggest Talent and Export.....Others come Second...........Haters Are Gon' hate....

Other than African Queen, frankly, I dont see any song tuface did meriting such international recognition. I acknowledge his talent, but dispute such merit

Who wan even dash tu face nomination? How many bets e don win if no b that one wey im share with d'banj, and wey dem collect for backstage? SHAME! Truth is, though i stil like tuface and psquare, no African singer CAN EVER WIN GRAMMY. Maybe in another generation.

Bimpss: Tuface and his likes have not been nominated/recieved a grammy award because he isn't a renown artist. You see the Grammy Awards Unlike the other Uncredible Awards (The BET, MTV e.t.c)are for artist who have brought something special to the table. The grammy takes its time to pick nominees and give award to some people who actually deserves it. Not to say that Tubaba and some other talented Nigerian artist doesn't deserve a Grammy, in my opinion they do. But the problem is that he is not well recognized, and for an international artist to win the grammy, they have to be recognized. i.e Like A.R Rahman .

Even the bet award they have won once, they just won for the African category. They didn't drag the award with even UK acts talkless of the main international artistes. So what if they remove the category of African act in Mtv Europe, BET and MOBO? That means no African artist wil ever win any international award again!, which i am feeling wil be scrapped soon.
As for 2 face deserving grammy in the widest imagination, he doesn't.
