I see quite a few PC gamers are on Nairaland. I would like to know what your PC specs are, and what will it cost to build or buy a decent PC gaming rig in Nigeria.

Why not post yours to inspire. Anyway, mine is a dell laptop with Core i7 2630QM, 8gb RAM, Nvidia Geforce 525M - 2Gb, 650Gb HDD, 17.3". I bought it directly from dell in the US and had it sent to Nigeria.

@zPixel, those are impressive specs! I doubt many Nigerians can afford that.
So please is there are large PC gaming community? I plan on moving back to Nigeria next year, so I'm interested in knowing about the availability and affordability of PC Games, and about any gaming communities.

I doubt if you will find a 'large' PC gaming community in Nigeria, although there are alot of folks into gaming some even organise weekly LAN games with friends, but most don't know where to find a large network of other gamers, can't find original PC games to buy. For instance, I've been searching for a copy of Microsoft flight simulatior for a while and i can't find any outlet that sells one.

So basically, the availability of PC games is zero. Nice rig you've got there smiley

I can't seem to decide on what Specs is the best for PC gaming console. Can you give me some ideas? I am using Windows 7 right now but I want to upgrade its console.

Mine is an HP laptop AMD Phenom II Quad-Core 2.1GHz, 4GB RAM, IGB ATI Radeon 5600, 640GB HardDrive

Software companies have got to take the African consumer markets more seriously. They have got to produce computer software specially tailored to suite African needs (pricing and availability)They have done so for the American, European, Japanese and even Australian markets, so why leave Africa behind? If they don't, then piracy is our only way forward, why should we be left behind?

it was the only one left. besides, i did some massive upgrades during the weekend...


overclocked my graphics card alittle and boom, playing crysis 3 at constant 50fps.

it's doing fine now. recognized the culprits in the BSOD: connectify(probably an infected one) and Nokia suite and its drivers.
playing Dark Souls at the moment(most difficult game i've ever played)

while playing PES i switch back to intel graphics. no difference noticed cos the game isn't that demanding. i guess same goes with FIFA cheesy

so i can buy a nvidia graphic card for my laptop maybe nvidia 256mb or nvidia 512mb how much would it cost and my system is using a1.2ghz processor 2gb ram 250gb memory intel integrated graphic card of 64mb

if ur system is a laptop, forget it. you cant upgrade. if you got a desktop then ur good to go

Very few laptop graphics card can be changed. If your laptop isnt an alienware or asus G series, forget it.

In other for you to upgrade your system, you would need to technically disassemble your PC.
