SoftVersion: Can a US Citizen be my sponsor when applying to study in the US? A white US Citizen that we are not related in anyway. If yes, will there be any disadvantage due to that when applying for Student Visa? No reply yet. @justWise you should have left my topic alone. |

There is yet to be a procedure as to go about in the renewing of e-passport. I am presently in a dilemma and I guess I will go ahead to use my former passport which is due to expire on the 17th of dec this year. Any other contribution to this will be highly welcomed. Thank u. Confirmed from the immigration office. |

In fact, that's the best because it shows that you have a tie to your country. |

If not, is better you open a new thread for that because this thread is all about student visa. |

princedant: OK. It's a diversion to this thread because we only discuss student visa here but I will say applying with your wife and three kids shows that 4 of you can't run away at the same time. I saw many cases like that on my visiting to Abuja and Lagos but I can't remember if they are for visiting or tourism. This is not automatic approval sha o. |

Hello House, I've been following this thread for a few months, read from the first thread down to this one, and I must say you guyz are really doing a great job...it has been of much help to me, to build my confidence, and preparations for my visa interview. I was interviewed at the Abuja Consulate today and I'm glad to announce that I WAS GRANTED A VISA for undergraduate. Please help me thank God...I'm so overwhelmed by this right now and I will post interview details as after I pick up my passport with the visa on wednesday. The key to success is mostly your confidence, try to connect with the VO, be sure of what you're saying and have proper documentation to back it up... Please I have to ask those that have gotten their VISA's, whats the next step after getting a visa...what do I have to do? Thanks. |

Leadzeal You can ask for a re issue. They will cancel your present passport(without prejudice) and issue a new one with new passport number. Go to immigration and explain to them, i also have this issue. |

Hi everyone, pleas i am yet to get my i-20form but i learnt it will soon be ready. My question is this...can i go ahead & fill the ds-160form online now or does it require i pay for visa fee first before i can fill.. Please house just explain to me d steps i have to take now in other to book a interview PLEASE ASAP |
| Re: General U.s.a (student) Visa Enquiries-part2 by elektra(f): 5:52am On May 16, 2012 |
@leadzeal I do not know if Lagos re issues. I am sure abuja does. You'll have to enquire. Yes, you can be in possession of the cancelled passport, but it will not be useful for anything. I know someone that got re issued another one in abuja, paid 25k and got it in a week. I will apply for my re issue within this week. |

genxris: Hi everyone, pleas i am yet to get my i-20form but i learnt it will soon be ready. You can ask the school to send you a scanned copy by e-mail. All you need from it right now to fill your form/book an AP is your SEVIS number and maybe school code. Then select a date when you're sure the original would have reached you and yes you have to pay the visa fees to book a date. |

@ leadzeal Have you started your application process with your present passport? I have already sent my expiring passport photocopy to the school for I-20 generation. I hope getting a new passport will not make the I-20 invalid. I was told that all i have to do is take d cancelled passport and new passport to the embassy for the interview. House, please advice. |

elektra: @ leadzealI am also in the same shoe. I will b expecting my I-20 details probably 2day or at most this friday. Honestly, me not liking this. Am tempted to use d old one but I suppose is quiet risky. Are u applying for undergrad or grad studies.? Ll try and create time to come to abuja to get all this trashed out. |

For those contemplating heading to BENIN for their servis fees tomorrow (17th May,2012) should not step an inch, as there is said to be a public holiday for the reason best known to them. I was able to pay my servis fee today at BENIN (Contonou). It was a successful outing as I beat all the securities and customs checkpoints. I must quickly say here that it wasn't by my power but I believe it was just God at work. Though I devised a technique that I use for the trip. For those interested in the technique I would not mind sharing it but not here. |
