THE SOLUTION TO NIGERIA'S DILEMMA

It is a fact that the end of any book can never be determined by the first 51 pages of the same book. This is true because there are pages ahead enough to change or influence the story or sequence of the plot as the case may be. This asserts that Nigeria can still change despite the 51 years of political, sociopolitical and economic problems that have bedeviled the country for over 51 years. Many articles, journals and media reports have concluded that the major problem of Nigeria is CORRUPTION. Moreover, a good question is: What is the way forward?
Corruption is quite synonymous to the smoke produced by a nearby fire. However, the smoke (corruption) gives a clue to the source of the problem but is necessarily the solution to the problem. This is because “quenching” the smoke does not quench the fire. This leaves us dear fellow Nigerians to the next question; what is the source of Nigeria’s present dilemma? And then; what is the way forward? The major problems Nigeria faced at the birth of her federalism included the problems of Revenue allocation, minorities issue and secession, the Local Government Reforms of the 1986, to mention but a few. It would be practically impossible for our democratically elected representatives at the helm of affairs to address the old long term issues at this time when the father-land is suffering from socio-religious and economic scandals such as the acclaimed “Boko-Haram” sect and the unending issue of Subsidy-removal respectively.
Therefore, the way forward involves the young generation who will soon be at the same helm of affairs our deal “old father” politicians are. It lies on the coming generation of leaders who will continue from where these present acclaimed leaders will dump the heaps of problems left that visited their administration and live with them.
It is time for Nigerians to rise up and support the coming revolution; a revolution created through purposeful efforts and not circumstance. Let us all look beyond the present problems of the country and focus on the individual steps we need to take as citizens of our father land, collectively as an electorate who want a new government, a new system and a revolution. Let us all support the upcoming children n who have high dreams of leading the country. It is possible. Nigeria is beyond "Boko-Haram", Nigeria will be better.
We should never deny the fact that the change begins with the electorates themselves. We are the electorates, we are the masses, we are the people, we are Nigeria. We could reach a state of sociopolitical, political and economic ELDORADO if we carefully follow the , instructions of J. F. Kennedy of the United States of America which says; “Ask not what your country can do for you but ask what you can do for your country”.
