PUSH by OLAADEGBU(m): 2:53pm On Oct 05, 2007
A man was sleeping at night in his cabin when suddenly his room filled with light and the Saviour appeared.  The Lord told the man he had work for him to do, and showed him a large rock in front of his cabin.  The Lord explained that the man was to push against the rock with all his might.  This the man did, day after day.  For many years he toiled from sun up to sun down, his shoulders set squarely against the cold, massive surface of the unmoving rock, pushing with all his might.  Each night the man returned to his cabin sore, and worn out, feeling that his whole day had been spent in vain.

Seeing that the man was showing signs of discouragement, the devil decided to enter the picture by placing thoughts into the man's weary mind "You have been pushing against that rock for a long time, and it hasn't budged.  Why kill yourself over this?  You are never going to move it."  This gave the man the impression that the task was impossible and that he was a failure.  These thoughts discouraged and disheartened the man.  "Why kill myself over this?" he thought.  "I'll just put in my time, giving just the minimum effort and that will be good enough."   And that is what he planned to do until one day he decided to make it a matter of prayer and take his troubled thoughts to the Lord.

"Lord" he said, "I have laboured long and hard in your service, putting all my strength to do that which you have asked.  Yet, after all this time, I have not even budged that rock by half a millimeter.  What is wrong?  Why am I failing?"

The Lord responded compassionately, "My friend, when I asked you to serve me and you accepted, I told you that your task was to push against the rock with all your strength, which you have done.  Never once did I mention to you that I expected you to move it.  Your task was to push.  And now you come to me, with your strength spent, thinking that you have failed.  But, is that really so?   Look at yourself.  Your arms are strong and muscled, your back sinewy and brown, your hands are callused from constant pressure, and your legs have become massive and hard.  Through opposition you have grown much and your abilities now surpass that which you used to have.  Yet you haven't moved the rock.  But your calling was to be obedient and to push and to exercise your faith and trust in My wisdom.  This you have done.  I, my friend, will now move the rock."

At times, when we hear a word from God, we tend to use our own intellect to decipher what He wants, when actually what God wants is just simple obedience and faith in Him.  By all means, exercise the faith that moves mountains, but know that it is still God who moves the mountains.  You just PUSH!

When you want to curse them out for whatever the reason,  PUSH!

When people just don't understand you,  PUSH!

that is quite timely for me. Sometimes we do not get the instructions right before we move. But then God, in his lovingkindness will never cast away forever, in his mercy when we come back he will re-instruct and re-shape to get us there. Good lesson!!! Pray Until Something Happens.
May the good lord help our frailty.

Praise

Let everything that has breath praise Me. Put on a garment of praise
for the spirit heaviness. Lift up your voice to Me, for I inhabit your
praise. Yes, when My people praise Me, I am there in their midst. Your
praise is a sweet smelling aroma to Me. Praise sets the atmosphere for
a mighty move.

I adore those who give unto Me as sacrificial praise. When My people
praise Me in times of trials and troubles, that is when I strengthen
them. Praise is what brings you through. Praise is one of the keys to
victory, for the enemy is scattered at the sound of your praise. He
hates to hear the sound of worship being given to the One he envies.

When you go to your prayer closet to pray, and you don't feel Me, get
into praise and worship. I am there when you aren't feeling Me, but when
you catch My heart with your praises, you cause My hand to move. When
praises go up, blessings come down. So praise Me in and through every
situation. When you are frustrated and discouraged, sing a song of
praise. That is how David encouraged himself with praise!

My children don't understand the power of praise yet fully. Yes, your
praise brings delight to Me; but when you praise, you also strengthen
yourself. You edify yourself and you remind yourself of Who I am. I
want you to praise Me for who I am so I can show you another aspect of
My glory. Praise, praise, praise!

W A L K

That's right, My child, keep walking and moving forward. Do not look
back, for the future is not there. I know how hard it is, my child,
but take one step at a time and move forward. Move forward--progress--
it is the time for advancement towards the goal you hold in your
heart. Carry with you only that which you need, and that is Me.

Do not worry about the past, present or future, for I am the path of
righteousness on which you walk. The road of opposition is behind
you and the street of worry is no more. You have walked the valley
of death, and have feared none. The time for increase is underway;
it is being done, it is happening--you have seen the signs. Now believe
with all your heart!

Walking by My Spirit requires an active, on going determination. It
requires strength of mind, purpose and fortitude to follow the direction
of My Spirit in the power of My Spirit. Those who follow My Spirit's
direction in My Spirit's power will not carry out the evil intentions
of their sinful nature. When you walk by the Spirit, it excludes,
rejects, stops and prevents the destructive influence of the sinful
walk. Walking by My Spirit transforms people who are "back-biting,
lying and devouring each other" into people who are serving each other
in love.

Walk in the light, My child, walk! Keep walking in My Spirit. Keep
walking--it is a battle, but it is a battle worth warring. The power
of sin over you will break; temptation will loose it's power, and you
will soon see the fruit of My Kingdom come. All is well with you walk
in the Spirit of the Lord. Your inheritance is assured when you walk
in love, purity, peace, persistence and endurance, humility,
faithfulness, integrity, decency, honor holiness and calmness.

Joy always comes in the morning! Live and walk by My Spirit and keep
in My footsteps, and all will be well! Do not think or walk as carnal
man, for the wages of sin is death and it is futile to walk in the
ways of the world. Do not let the pressures of the world interfere
with your walk with Me. Do not, do not deny My power. Walk in the
light of My truth. Live by faith and not upon your own understanding
and vision. The path is narrow and it is straighter than an arrow--
walk it out, walk it out.

You are growing and developing, and showing more and more of Me in
your life. Keep giving Me every aspect of our life, as you are doing.

It is called progression-- keep walking and moving forward! March! Each
day make the decision to walk the path of My Spirit. You have freedom
in Me. Walk under My orders and commands, walk straight and fulfill the
directions of My Spirit.

I know you have made a pledge and promise to walk in My ways, and you
have submitted yourself fully unto Me. Now walk, My child, walk and do
not loose heart. Advance My child, advance. Move forward, towards the
higher goal in which I guide you.

The Spirit speaks to those who have ear

The sons of the prophets said to Elisha, "Please notice that the place where
we live under your supervision is too small for us.
Please let us go to the Jordan where we can each get a log and can build
ourselves a place to live there." "Go," he said. 2 Kings 6:1-2 (HCSB)

The Holy Spirit is encouraging many of you to expand your thoughts and ways
of God; you are to enlarge your borders. You've come through a distinct
period of training, and now it's time to be sent out. Go forth and practice
which has been deposited within you.

There is no failure for those who believe and trust in the Father. You are
not alone. He will not forsake you, but is constantly watching over you,
offering direction. Examine your ways so you might leave behind those things
which hinder you drawing closer.

There is a place for you. It is yet beyond the safety net you've
established. You are being called to move into the deeper waters of the Holy
Spirit. It is there you belong. Build for yourself a home which is on a firm
foundation.

Pray Until Something Happens

Plead Until Something Happens

Persevere Until Something Happens

Praise the Lord Until Something Happens

Pray, plead until something happens.  Bring the promises of God back to God, the infallibe Word of God that cannot change.

Persevere until something happens.  I will not let you go except you bless me.  Don't give up.

Preach until something happens.  Preach the word to yourself again until something happens.  Remind yourself of His promises.

Proclaim, profess until something happens.  Believe and keep on standing on His promises.  Strengthen yourself with the Word of God.  Proclaim the Promise, His Truth, His Name.  Let something happen in your life, in your heart and family.

Prophecy until something happens.  Speak to those dry bones until something happens.

Praise the Lord until something happens.  Praise His Name, He is good and wonderful.  Honour His name and exalt Him.  He remains ever the same, He destroys the works of the devil, He unites together and answers prayers today.  Pray until something happens.

I love you, My children. I want to give you of Myself and My gifts.
So ask, and you shall receive, just as I have promised you.
Seek and you shall find;
that what you require and desire is within your grasp.

Your needs are met in Me, and I will supply all.
Do not look to circumstances, but look to My Word and My Love.
I have not and will never fail you. Kings and kingdoms pass away,
but I am always there for you.
You are secure because I am your security. Knock and I Myself
will open unto you.

"Watch and pray, lest you enter into temptation. The spirit truly is ready, but the flesh is weak." -- Mark 14:38

"The reason why many fail in battle is because they wait until the hour of battle. The reason why others succeed is because they have gained their victory on their knees long before the battle came . . . Anticipate your battles; fight them on your knees before temptation comes, and you will always have victory." -- R. A. Torrey

"Emergency prayer of a little boy"

Come with me to a third grade classroom.  There is a nine-year-old kid sitting at his desk and all of a sudden, there is a puddle between his feet and the front of his pants are wet.  He thinks his heart is going to stop because he cannot possibly imagine how this has happened.  It's never happened before, and he knows that when the boys find out he will never hear the end of it.  When the girls find out, they'll never speak to him again as long as he lives.

The boy believes his heart is going to stop; he puts his head down and prays this prayer, "Dear God, this is an emergency! I need help now! Five minutes from now I'm dead meat."

He looks up from his prayer and here comes the teacher with a look in her eyes that says he has been discovered.

As the teacher is walking toward him, a classmate named Susie is carrying a goldfish bowl that is filled with water.  Susie trips in front of the teacher and inexplicably dumps the bowl of water in the boy's lap.

The boy pretends to be angry, but all the while is saying to himself, "Thank you, Lord! Thank you, Lord!"

Now all of a sudden, instead of being the object of ridicule, the boy is the object of sympathy.  The teacher rushes him downstairs and gives him gym shorts to put on while his pants dry out.  All the other children are on their hands and knees cleaning up around his desk.  The sympathy is wonderful.  But as life would have it, the ridicule that should have been his has been transferred to someone else - Susie.

She tries to help, but they tell her to "get out.  You've done enough, you klutz!"

Finally, at the end of the day, as they are waiting for the bus, the boy walks over to Susie and whispers, "You did that on purpose, didn't you?" Susie whispers back, "I wet my pants once too."

May God help us see the opportunities that are always around us to do good.

Remember, Just going to church doesn't make you a Christian any more than standing in your garage makes you a car.

Each and everyone one of us is going through tough times right now, but God is getting ready to bless you in a way that only He can.  Keep the faith.

This prayer is powerful, and prayer is one of the best gifts we receive.  There is no cost but a lot of rewards Let's continue to pray for one another.

The Prayer:

Father, I ask You to bless my friends, relatives and those that I care deeply for, who are reading this right now.  Show them a new revelation of Your love and power.  Holy Spirit, I ask You to minister to their spirit at this very moment.  Where there is pain, give them Your peace and mercy. Where there is self-doubt, release a renewed confidence through Your grace.  Where there is need, I ask you to fulfill their needs.  Bless their homes, families, finances, their goings and their comings. Amen.

(If the Lord lays upon your heart to send this to more than four "4" people, you are truly blessed)

Cry Out and Press In

Cry out to Me with your whole heart, with your whole mind, and with
your whole soul, for I am calling you to come up higher, but I need
to hear you cry out to Me. This is a time of great awakening for My
people to come to the place where I am calling them to.

Press in to know Me in even a greater way than ever before. You need
to know and be able to hear My still, small voice to give you the
directions to safety which is in walking My perfect will. Each step
that you take will be an important move, and you need to be lead
completely by My Spirit and not by your own will.

These are treacherous times, and the enemy has many traps set to
ensnare you. It is so important now than ever before that you crucify
your flesh, pick up your cross, and follow Me. For you must die in
order to have My resurrection power flowing through you.

So cry out, and press in know Me, and do not fear the schemes of
your enemy against you; for when you walk in My spirit, nothing can
by any means can harm you. So be bold and be strong, for the Lord
your God is with you!!!

PUSH, PULL and STAND

It is time for my people to push past the things that have kept them in bondage.
Push past the things that would keep them down. Push past the gates of Hell and see the victory won.

Pull from Me, pull from all that I have for you. Pull from the provisions I have made for you.
But even more-so, pull together as My people. Come in to one mind and one heart focused on Me.
Learn to lean upon Me and upon those I have set in your paths.
Pull together so together you can pull down My glory and see it manifest amongst you.

And lastly, I say to you stand in this last day. Stand firm no matter what be going on around you.
Do not be shaken in your faith. Be grounded in Me and in your relationship with Me and you will stand.
When the seas get into turmoil, you will stand.
When others fall around you, not able to keep pushing , you STAND. Then you will be rewarded. Lean on Me and stand.

Watch and pray, that you enter not into temptation: the spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.
-- Matthew 26:41

"Real praying is a costly exercise but it pays far more than it costs.  It is not easy work but it is most profitable of all work.  We can accomplish more by time and strength put into prayer than we can by putting the same amount of time and stregth into anything else." -- R. A. Torrey, The Power of Prayer

The Wooden Bowl

I guarantee you will remember the tale of the Wooden Bowl tomorrow, a week from now, a month from now,
a year from now.

A frail old man went to live with his son, daughter-in-law, and four-year-old grandson.
The old man's hands trembled, his eyesight was blurred, and his step faltered

The family ate together at the table. But the elderly grandfather's shaky hands and
failing sight made eating difficult. Peas rolled off his spoon onto the floor.
When he grasped the glass, milk spilled on the tablecloth.

The son and daughter-in-law became irritated with the mess.
'We must do something about father,' said the son.
'I've had enough of his spilled milk, noisy eating, and food on the floor.'

So the husband and wife set a small table in the corner.
There, Grandfather ate alone while the rest of the family enjoyed dinner.
Since Grandfather had broken a dish or two, his food was served in a wooden bowl.

When the family glanced in Grandfather's direction, sometimes he had a tear in his eye as he sat alone.
Still, the only words the couple had for him were sharp admonitions when he dropped a fork or spilled food.

The four-year-old watched it all in silence.

One evening before supper, the father noticed his son playing with wood scraps on the floor.
He asked the child sweetly, 'What are you making?' Just as sweetly, the boy responded,
'Oh, I am making a little bowl for you and Mama to eat your food in when I grow up.
' The four-year-old smiled and went back to work.

The words so struck the parents so that they were speechless. Then tears started to stream down their cheeks. Though no word was spoken, both knew what must be done.

That evening the husband took Grandfather's hand and gently led him back to the family table.
For the remainder of his days he ate every meal with the family. And for some reason,
neither husband nor wife seemed to care any longer when a fork was dropped, milk spilled, or the tablecloth soiled.

On a positive note, I've learned that, no matter what happens, how bad it seems today, life does go on, and it will be better tomorrow.

I've learned that you can tell a lot about a person by the way he/she handles four things:
a rainy day, the elderly, lost luggage, and tangled Christmas tree lights.

I've learned that making a 'living' is not the same thing as making a 'life, '

I've learned that life sometimes gives you a second chance.

I've learned that you shouldn't go through life with a catcher's mitt on both hands. You need to be able to throw something back sometimes.

I've learned that if you pursue happiness, it will elude you
But, if you focus on your family, your friends, the needs of others,
your work and doing the very best you can, happiness will find you

I've learned that whenever I decide something with an open heart, I usually make the right decision.

I've learned that even when I have pains, I don't have to be one.

I've learned that every day, you should reach out and touch someone.

People love that human touch -- holding hands, a warm hug, or just a friendly pat on the back.

I've learned that I still have a lot to learn.

I've learned that you should pass this on to everyone you care about. I just did.

PUSH revisited.

And they said to him. Thus says Hezekiah. This day is a day of trouble, and of rebuke, and of blasphemy: for the children are come to the birth, and there is not strength to bring forth. -- Isaiah 37:3

This verse paints a picture of a pregnant woman who is unable to push to deliver because of little strength.

May the Lord give His Church Power to PUSH so as to:

Pray Until Something Happens

Preach Until Sinners Hastens

Prophesy Until  Sin Hurts

Proclaim Until Saints Hunger

Pursue Until Scorners Hide

Persuade Until Sowers' Harvest

Persevere Until Standards Hold

Below is another inspirational piece to think deeply about.

A holy man was having a conversation with the Lord one day and said, "Lord, I would like to know what Heaven and Hell are like."

The Lord led the holy man to two doors. He opened one of the doors and the holy man looked in. In the middle of the room was a large round table. In the middle of the table was a large pot of stew which smelled delicious and made the holy man's mouth water.

The people sitting around the table were thin and sickly. They appeared to be famished. They were holding spoons with very long handles that were strapped to their arms and each found it possible to reach into the pot of stew and take a spoonful, but because the handle was longer than their arms, they could not get the spoons back into their mouths. The holy man shuddered at the sight of their misery and suffering. The Lord said, "You have seen Hell."

They went to the next room and opened the door. It was exactly the same as the first one. There was the large round table with the large pot of stew which made the holy man's mouth water. The people were equipped with the same long-handled spoons, but here the people were well nourished
and plump, laughing and talking. The holy man said, "I don't understand." "It is simple" said the Lord, "it requires but one skill. You see, they have learned to feed each other, while the greedy think only of themselves."

When Jesus died on the cross he was thinking of you!

Lets PUSH for our Country Nigeria

Eze 22:30 And I sought for a man among them, that should make up the hedge, and stand in the gap before me for the land, that I should not destroy it: but I found none.

Suggest a date and lets plane lets:
1. Pray for the peace in the North and other part of the County.
2. Salvation of Souls
3. Economic setback
4. ,

If we (the Christian) wouldn't PUSH who else will do it. There can be a change, there can be a revolution there can be a, America is what it is today because men arose and prayed for the Country. We can do same its not too late.

And Samson said to her, If they bind me with seven green withs that were never dried, then shall I be weak, and be as another man. -- Judges 16:7

The church has become powerless because it now operates like a worldly organisation. Like someone said; "the church has become worldly and the world has become churchy." Samson paints the picture of the church today that has little or no power because of its worldly association.

That he told her all his heart, and said to her, There has not come a razor upon mine head; for I have been a Nazarite to God from my mother's womb: If I be shaven, then my strength will go from me, and I shall become weak, and be like any other man. -- Judges 16:17

How weak is your heart, says the LORD GOD, seeing you do all these things, the work of an imperious whorish woman. -- Ezekiel 16:30

The question is; does the Church still have the:

Power to prevail;

Power to pursue;

Power to perform;

Power to prevent evil from happening

Power to preserve the treasures in the church;

Power to PUSH (Isaiah 63:3)?

Power to Pray Until Something Happens?

TEXT: 2 KINGS 19:1-19

"And Hezekiah prayed before the Lord, and said, O Lord God of Israel, which dwellest between the cherubims, thou art the God, even thou alone, of all the kingdoms of the earth: thou hast made heaven and earth" (2 Kings 19:15).

The spectacle of a nation praying is more awe-inspiring than the explosion of an atomic bomb. The force of prayer is greater than any possible combination of man-controlled powers, because prayer is man’s greatest means of tapping the infinite resources of God. Prayer moves the hand which moves the world.

Prayer is the key that opens to us the treasure of God’s mercies and blessings; it is the key that shuts us up under His protection and safeguard.

Hezekiah had great confidence in God. Faced with the threat of the Assyrians and horrified at the mockery of the Lord, he turned to God and entreated Isaiah to pray for Jerusalem and God’s people. He took the letter which demanded that Jerusalem surrender to God’s house, spread it out before the Lord and prayed earnestly.

Prayer crowns God with the honour and glory due to His name and God crowns the prayerful Christian with honour, glory and comfort.

The most praying souls are the most assured and comforted. When troubles come into our lives, family, business or fellowship, and circumstances seem out of control, we must do just as Hezekiah did by drawing near to God in fervent prayer. God has promised to deliver us from every evil work and to preserve our soul to His heavenly kingdom. By holding on to God in our heart with trust and faith in His promises, we shall have peace, joy and victory. Prayer supplies us with a flow of sustaining power in our daily lives.

Thought for today: Prayer moves the hand which moves the world
