Port Novo was former capital but now its cotonou,Port Novo in egun language is called Ogbonu,Very nice city with serene enviroment.Of course good apartments.

Cotonou its self can be distractive and accommodations are a lil bit expensive unless ya wanna stay in the zongo(Ghetto)

20,000 naira is approximately 630,000 cefa. Wow, that's huge money to take you and your friend for even one week. Depending on the style you want to live over there.

@zhukafa Please re-read the guy said 2 days...

what do you mean by 20,000 naira = 630,000cfa,you quoting wrong figure oo

Yes you can manage it but it depends on the kinda of lifestyle ya wanna live out there cos that money might also be too small, see my conversion and bead down.

1000 cfa = 320 naira.

10,000 cfa=3200 naira

63,000 cfa = 20,000 naira.

Hotel cheapest can be found in nice area like john k..

5,000 cfa = 1 night(tv ,fan inclusive)

Feeding =2000 cfa morning, afternoon and night making 6000 cfa cos ya gonna be craving for 9ja foods and they are quite expensive there.Their local foods is cheaper but im afraid you can eat.The cheapest is bread 200 CFA.

transportation cheap.

Visit Quidah,An ancient slave trade town.
Visit Plague (Beach very lovely)
Visit Port NOVO (former capital AND ANCIENT CITY)
Visit seaport.
Aeroport (Airport) Very close to the beach.
Dantokpa and misebo Marche (Market)

But to be sincere 20k wont be enough...

Oga, 20,000 Naira is 60,000 CFA or at most 63,000 . As at Sunday 14th day of July it was 60kCFA and not 630,000CFA

Sisfunmi just spotted out my error . It's 63,000 cefa. And it can still take both of you for 2 days. Thanks.

@You might be able to get accommodation for 7,000CFA or below per month in Port novo,One thing about french people is that they prefer you paying them monthly, even Senegal or any francophone country.
Re: Need Traveling Advice To Cotonou by Nobody: 2:44pm On Jul 16, 2013
You are correct and in fact rent is paid in arrears and not in advance. Unfortunately, tenants (esp foreigners)are required to deposit 6months house rent which will be refunded when you leave. It serves as security deposit in case the tenant defaults in house rent or any other bills ( light , water etc).
