After the ending Nigeria had to the year 2011,( the Christmas day bombing). Even the most optimistic amongst us could only see Nigeria disintergrating into sectarian civil strife in 2012 but yet we haven't. At a point were christian and Muslims should be at gun point, both have taken to the streets in one voice against what we perceive as the greater enemy the government. Is it that GEJ is not as dumb and aloof as we view him? Is the extremely bad timing of the fuel subsidy removal infact a cunning tactic the government employed to unite the people at a time when they should be divided? Whether it be by design or accident no one can deny that these protests have distracted the people from civil war.

Possibly. There are very many shrewd strategists inside that rock called Aso rock. Anything is possible.

I mean with the likes of okonjo iweala and the rest, smart intelligent idaviduals who have served at leading international organizations surely they have sound knowledge as how to impliment policy with minimum public backlash i.e. faze out approach. Think about it nigerians they want u to protest and i agree with them, i would rather protest in poverty than kill in poverty.

I like to see things from many different perspectives. This is one very odd but probable one. Not many can chew it though.

I mean, rather than impose a state of emergency on the whole nation, we could just "simulate" a strike. I've learnt one or two leadership tricks from this.
