For the lowest part of the tilt in this land, we envisage there will be water flooding to this point and that's the reason for the additional reinforcement with a concrete beam, but remember this water has to run off from somewhere. So we are making this water outflow channel with flattened blocks, saving us the cost of cutting gutters.

community youths came to site and threw out my workers from this site, seized their tools and insisted we provide receipt for the development levy paid to their community. We shall rectify this today, meanwhile work has reached advanced stage as we may round off all works today.

Thanks Spyder880, The fence has to be of normal lenght. At most 12 blocks high. It doesn't have to become a prison wall. The land is a sandy one. I want pillers to be casted and pillers will have to hold the gates too.
The question again is how many 6inches blocks do i need to buy? How many bags of cement and how many rod (what size) will i have to buy to complete the fencing?

Many thanks!

In that case, a 12 high, pillar casted fence of 60x120 ft will take

3600 blocks 6'' hollow
90 bags of cement
30 1x12x12 planks (pull and re use as you go)
10 pounds weight of 3'' nail
4 trips of sand
2 trips of gravel/granite
45 rods of 12mm

thanks

Spydee, what is the significant of the pillars in-between the fence? Must all fence be constructed with a pillar in it? Please advise.
Re: Fence Building Section by spyder880(m): 6:56pm On Feb 02, 2012
^^^^ its not aall fences that has pillars in between, the pillars are for added strenght to make the fence more stable. It is difficult for the fence with pillars to fall, especially those fences with beams to chain it.
Many fences are done with double standing blocks at intervals as pillars, this has its own pros and cons too.
