Two explosions have rocked Yenagoa, the capital of Bayelsa state and home state of President Goodluck Jonathan.

The explosions came after the northern city of Kano was hit by bombs and gunfire that left several people dead.

However, the Bayelsa State Governor, Timipre Sylva, indicated that the Yenagoa blasts were linked to upcoming governorship elections and not Islamist sect, Boko Haram which claimed responsibility for the Kano attacks.

“Governor Timipre Sylva has just been informed of two explosions that rocked parts of Yenagoa, the Bayelsa state capital, late Friday night,” a statement from his office said.

A spokesman for the military task force in the region said there had been no casualties.

“The (joint task force) confirms that there were dynamite explosions in certain parts of Yenagoa city yesterday. However, there was no casualties,” Lieutenant Colonel Timothy Antigha said.

The only controversy about bombing was when GEJ said it wasn't MEND even after MEND itself had claimed responsibility for the independence day blasts.

Who tells the dindinrin PDP gov. that those who claimed responsibility for Kano incidence are the real culprits or the BH members? They are moving gradually south, may be Nigerians will soon understand who there enemies are.

Politicians always see things base on opposition to their ambition not in the light of reality.

FG should employ more guys from Nairaland to serve in the army, we may do better since there is no employment in companies & more so am begining to understand that Nigeria don't have enough army as required to combat crime in this country. Infact i am ready!
