Please can anybody in the house tell me how to go about Iceblock business the pros and cons needed please

Pros and cons:
Based on an investigation i did in 2008 which may be stale by now,
There are locally fabricated machines as well as imported machines
Austin Laz limited, Powercool limited and Merchantile limited are among the importers.
The imported machines work for 6-8 hours to freeze. The local works for up to 12 hours to freeze
You need 15 kva diesel generators that consume 2 liters per hour to power some of the machines depending on their capacities
In the present day 2012, diesel is N160 per liter so you need N2560 per cycle/day on diesel if using the imported brand machine that requires a 15KVA.

Some imported machines can do 50,60,80,100 blocks
How much will the blocks be sold to cover the cost of power?
Before you start, check your environment and do a market survey.
Find out the types/sizes of ice blocks that the market wants, not what you think they want.
What the market wants will determine the type of machine that you will buy.
Find out if there is a need for ice blocks in your location. Do not just assume that there is a need everywhere.
Some have burnt their fingers badly believing that there is a need for ice blocks everywhere.

Ice block is a seasonal business. During the rains, demand falls drastically. You can make consistent good sales not more than 6-8 months in the year. Depending on the environment you are doing it, you can make everyday sales. In some places, only weekend sales.

In some machines, if the block is removed from the machine and not quickly sold or when the machine is switched off, the block will defrost back to water within 2-3 hours. So you must have a market ready. You should have a means to transport the blocks to some customers who will expect you to bring it to them.

Find out if spare parts are ready and available on demand.
The risk is there as in any other business. This business has created many millionaires. However do a market survey before you venture into it.

Please beware of Laja block machine

There is one Mr Adelaja along Iyana Ipaja. He builds this local ice block machine for me. The machine is suppose to produce 120 blocks in 15hours for 380K. (But instead it takes three days) Since last year it has not produce 100 blocks successful. He sent his boys like twice to come and work on it and since then he refuse to come fix the machine. Even with 6 months guarantee he gave me.

In the process of looking for someone to fix the machine I met one of his victim (an elderly woman) who lives around Ikosi Ketu. The woman is also lamenting and cursing Laja. This is his business line 08028338283 beware. He has a very sweet mouth o.

I wasted about 40k to fix this machine but its not working.

If you want to do this business try to use imported machine
