5. Another option is Abuja, get posted, get connected and start chopping money

as a corper, i was able 2 use my salary 2 buy a brand new lappy, a brand new symbian phone and almost a car!!!!!

Guy don't even think about it. Im currently doing my youth service in Lagos and i must say . . . it is one among the best decision i've taken.
Your destine is in your hands. If you can by any way lobby your way down to Lagos, pls do. Na for here e dey hapen. Im servicing in a good company. That means they pay well and coupled with the experience im acquiring. If is not Lagos, Abuja or Ph, then your chances of getting a better place(company) to serve is very slim. No dull!

Though I 'm one of those who don't really believe in the Scheme anymore (after the cold blood Murder of 10 innocent youths during last elections) I will reluctantly advise you thus:

First Pray you are not posted to any of the troubled states up North. That's the Number 1 thingy now. It's your Security first man.

Secondly don't focus on what you will earn as a copper but what Experience you can gain from wherever you are posted to. I see some people making it look like teaching in a community is a bad dream. That's not tue if you can impart Knowledgeand get some of the Kids to pass their basic WAEC/GCE and Jamb you will be fulfilled I tell you.

Thirdly,be ready to re-discover yourself as you might have some buried/dormant skills that will catapault you beyond working for any multi-Nationals.

I wish you the best as you put your mind to work and look for opportunities to make money work for you if you can look a little inward and let your multi-dimensional gifts/talents come to fore.

Tell God to post you to where your heart desire, or else you find yourself in boko haram zone. Your service year doe not determine whether you can secure employment.

I would rather serve my fatherland in my father's town,period. NYSC has lost d main reason while it was made.

i,ll suggest ENUGU, and if you are good in teaching,you,ll make some money,the kids out there are respectful and have the zeal to learn and there are lots of parents there looking for corpers to give their kids private lessons at home.

Down south is cool. I'm serving in Lagod and its so wonderful. Or wait on your fate.

lol TJ what local govt did u serve in Sokota? I served in Dongadaji near Tambuwal in Sokoto (2008) and i had to assist the SS3 Physics teacher to write his WAEC in all science subjects, Lol, staying in that place made me wonder 'how come i m 1 naija wid these guys' (no insults intended

Like you said Anambra is among the best places to serve in Nigeria, also Abuja and Lagos is ok. I will suggest that since you are in Awka, if you studied any science related courses you may apply to Juhel Pharmaceutical production Plant there in Awka just beside Millennium on the express, I assure you their remuneration is sweet.

If you are engineering inclined you may as well submit your CV also @ Orient Petroleum @ Abuja Estate and also Innoson Vehicle manufacturing @ Nnewi is another good place to seek for job even as youth corper.

servicing in context is wrong, The word servicing Simply means '' mating by male animals''

Just to add, I think serving in Lagos is the bomb especcially for those who studied Engineering most specifically Elect/Elect Engr /Comp science/Comp Eng, In lag, guyz who studied these courses are usually posted to good firms and most of the companies will retain you even if they say u should stay on as corper level till u get another place. The bottom point is ur 1 year,u can garner work experience, gatecrash job tests, u v access 2 information about jobs/recruitment, u can go 4 certification classes in IT related courses (i.e CCNA, MCSE, ).After 1 year there will be a huge difference between u serving in lagos and ur ex-coursemate who just came back from service in Jigawa/sokoto/kano/jupiter/sahara, I am telling u dz cuz i experienced it. After coming back from sokoto to lagos i had 2 start 4rm square 1 while my ex-coursemates(who served in lagos) and had worse results than me in school already had jobs before service was over

Kano : The opportunities there will blow you away ( literally ).
