Ojukwu the wife of Ikemba the late Biafran leader refusing to honor the invitation to come for screening. Plz I want to ask: Is it not too early for her to involve in national issues. Is it OK for H of A, to call a woman who just lost her husband. Should Ndigbo allow her to go for national call?. Is this a dishonor to Ndigbo in general? Etc.

When did political appointments become a chieftaincy title? The fact that Ojukwu was an elder statesman doesn't mean she will make a good 'stateswoman.'

Screening? Seriously? Are they trying to make a mockery out of her?

Her husband hasn't been buried, nothing has been done, YET they want her to come for screening where they can grill her out. She's wise to have turned down the offer, the offer can wait at least 3months later when all funeral rites has done, thereafter, she can talk business.

, certainly, the position she is to be screened for does not need urgent attention similar to the power sector, security, infrastructure development, etc. Thus the vetting can be rescheduled to contain the peculiar circumstance she finds herself. This is only compassionate and humane, but I know Nairaland tribalists will soon start posting rubbish.

Does Ojukwu have a living son or daughter? If yes, then let them invite one of Ojukwu's sons or daughter. Any of them above 18 yrs should be qualified for a political appointment and as his or her father's son or daughter, he or should do far better than Bianca.

I see this as insensitivity! How can the H of A summon o woman who is yet to burry her husband. Bianca's husband is is hero in Nigeria. The National Assembly, ruled that there would be 'National Burial' for Dim Odimegwu Ojukwu. So why summoning his wife? If the entire Nigerian nation being rep[resented by peoples in the national assemble did not deem it fit to honour this man for a national burial, plzzzzzz his wife should be left out! Is she a member of the subsidy cabal, i guess no!

@poster, it is very important to get our facts right so as not to mislead people.

1. Ojukwu died on the 26th of November, 2011.

2. Bianca Ojukwu was among the 88  Ambassadorial Nominees sent to the Senate for confirmation.

3. The names of the nominees were presented on the floor of the Senate on the 6th of December, 2011.

4. Which means probably her nomination was sent to the house before her husband died.

5. Bianca did not "refuse" to honour the invitation to come for the screening. She's mourning so how could she have gone for the screening.

6. The Senate did not discuss that Bianca refused to honour the invitation. Instead the Senate agreed that given her circumstances, it understood why she wasn't at the screening.

7. The Senate also agreed that Bianca could be screened when appropriate.

Nigeria, Na wao! How long shall we continue to act stupid and think the country will get better.

Should Ndigbo have anything to say about this? Should Ndigbo now run Ojukwu's family? Just wondering.

Please poster or moderator should modify this thread and not deserving to be on first page. It is very misleading. First, it is not a House of Assembly, but National Assembly. Secondly, Bianca Ojukwu was not summoned. She is just one of those Ambassadorial Nominees to be screened today. Nothing like she ought to be around today. Its just that the set of nominees were screened today and of course she can do hers at her convenience. Pls remove the words' House Of Assembly' and 'Summons'. Also nothing like 'she refused'. Very misleading.
