MASSOB always bring out mixed feelings among some of us Igbo because of their methods.
Yes, they are saying some things that we all agree with (I won't name them because I don't want arguments over them), BUT their methods leave a sour taste.

Here is what I mean.

The name "Biafra" always evokes venom among Nigerian security operatives (for obvious reasons -they are afraid of retribution which may not even come with Biafra's actualization), so, pray, how can any sane person march around in HUGE numbers unarmed in the name of MASSOB? I can understand if a few members of MASSOB, eg , their leaders only do such marches, and if anything happens to them, the rest of them can take action to free their leaders.
My heart bleeds anytime I see young UNARMED Igbo men gunned down in Igboland. It has been happening for years now, and our leaders do nothing.
What concerns me most is that our enemies are using the opportunity to come into Igboland as soldiers and be killing our youths under the guise that they are MASSOB.

So MASSOB should either change strategy, or they should leave Igboland.

I'm really only interested in adding my own voice to Igbo mindset development in Nigeria. We've made TOO MANY strategic mistakes in the past, and I will hope that we NEVER repeat them again.

When are you people going to get tired of these stale lines? Anyway I think it is the youths of Yoruba land that is deluded. Your leaders have already started to acknowledge their past mistakes and are already beginning to make moves to amend them. It is clear to any sane person.
That is part of why I believe that Uwazurike is wrong with his threats here.
BTW I won't argue with you over the two state falsehoods. lol

The only problem I see with Nigeria is the core North "born to rule" mentality which they occassionally enforce violently. Apart from that, I don't mind staying in Nigeria because I know that Ndigbo can survive in it.
That is why I advise Ndigbo to stop running home at the slightest violence from the North. Of course those who want to go home should go home and stay there, but anyone who stays in the North should be prepared to fight and die there. The core North must stop thinking that they possess exclusive rights to violence.

Considering he's the head of a Biafran group committed to seeing a separate country materialize, I wouldn't expect him to say otherwise.  This separatist mindset seems to be taking hold and getting more people's attention, if not outright support, and not only amongst pro-Biafrans either.  Not mine anyway.  We'll see.

I'll have to say this; I commend the Ndigbo for being patient and long-suffering. Not many ethnic groups would have done what our south-eastern brothers have done. That is a plus to them. Knowing the ND or SW, Core-Northerners would have been roasted in these regions even though, most Northerners (including the Core) are not in support of BH's activities.

With that said, I'll have to say that this Uwazuruike is an unserious man who lacks rationality.

Ndigbo are not fools and will NEVER fight a silly war. What is history for if not to help a rational person to make a better decision when similar events show up. I am personally angry (and I represent the voice of sane Igbo) that the man has shown clearly that he does not think strategically at all. It pains me to say this, but I am almost sure that those young men following Uwazuruike in MASSOB may be thinking that he has some realistic plans to actualize Biafra. Everything he says in this interview shows he has NONE.
Ndigbo are arguably the most capable group in Nigeria, so, it is insulting that a man without any rational plans is trying to lead us into a repeat of history.
This will NEVER happen.
I have personally notice (Since!) that Biafra is used as an instrument of blackmail against us by groups in the south. That is part why I adopted my own belief that Ndigbo can stay in Nigeria (even as is!). All we need to do is change our mindset about how we live in the North.
We need a new leader in Igboland that will help bring about this change of mindset. Uwazuruike is only right on the issue of violence, which BTW he needs to renounce his crazy non-violence crap that destroys the Igbo fighting/warlike spirit.
These days I cannot even recognize my brothers in Nigeria.
That is part of why we have lost our voice in the scheme of things.

My honest hope is that after the burial of Ojukwu, that Ndigbo will sit down to SERIOUSLY agree on (or address) what to do about MASSOB and its tactics.

This struggle is too important to be left for the Uwazuruike types of Igboland.
I still hope that either MASSOB changes strategy, or they should leave Igboland/be disbanded or something.

We don' t need backdoors through which mass murderers enter Igboland to destroy our ability to fight (if necessary) for our own emancipation.

Why even go to war ?
Make igbos who want to leave make they go .I highly doubt delta igbos will follow you even they have a capital in one of the richest in oil state even though he oil wells are not in the igbo portion of the state nor are the ports and will certainly not want to live that union.

Igboland if all the igbos return there is a small area that will be highly over populated landlocked and very little resources .

Days of making cash as middlemen will be gone since they will have no ports and will now have to pay to use the ports and then to sell it to the remaining nigeria they left.

My brothers do not be afraid. this is the day Chineke has made so we must rejoice and be glad in it!
Tommorrow we start phase one of reclaiming our birth right of being free as the ripe mango which hangeth upon the tree.
