The Central Bank of Nigeria, on Monday, donated N25 million to victims of the Christmas Day bomb attack at St. Theresa's Catholic Church, Madalla, Niger State.

Lamido Sanusi, the CBN governor, while handing over the cheque, said the donation was in line with CBN’s corporate social responsibility (CSR) policy. He said the CSR initiative, which has been in existence since 2006, had enabled the bank to support people in times of need.

For instance, he recalled how the apex bank vacated one of its branches to provide accommodation to the victims of the bomb blast that rocked the United Nations building in July 2011.

Time for tactics, if the whole Nigeria had not spoken against this mallam's anti-people attitude towards the Madalla bomb blast he would have done nothing. Trust him he decided to give Madalla's cheque before Kano. grin. If he his pushed further I am sure he will donate for the victims of Occupy Nigeria

From a Facebook status update:
It seems as if Sanusi has met his performance schedule for next yr,and has such idleness has crept into his work schedule.

I want to use this opportunity to thank Ohaneze Ndigbo, Femi Falana and other individuals and groups who spoke against Sanusi's chauvinistic benevolence.

Re: Cbn Donates N25m To Madalla Bomb Victims by GWslim(f): 11:48am On Feb 21, 2012
CBN is now a donor agency. The money donated to bomb victims in Kano and Niger state is it contribution from the staffs or part of budgetary allocation? Sanusi must answer this question.
Re: Cbn Donates N25m To Madalla Bomb Victims by alex406(m): 12:05pm On Feb 21, 2012
If not for the joint effort of people who spoke against the donation to Kano Blast, the dullard will not have done anything in respect to the madalla blast. shitty tribalist.

Nice one by sanusi. Any money offered to the bereaved (weather christians or muslems) is good.
Re: Cbn Donates N25m To Madalla Bomb Victims by doctokwus: 12:18pm On Feb 21, 2012
Dis CBN governor is simply too islamist in his beliefs and actions.BTW wen did CBN become a charity organisation, able to donate mony at d whims and caprices of a religious mallam?
Re: Cbn Donates N25m To Madalla Bomb Victims by aribisala0(m): 12:25pm On Feb 21, 2012
How much did the CBN give the survivors of Biafra
both donations should not be happening. they are wrong. This is a distortion of the idea of CSR.

What is more puzzling is why the CBN should have such funds at its disposal.
Re: Cbn Donates N25m To Madalla Bomb Victims by lekansy(m): 12:50pm On Feb 21, 2012
may be the governor made a mistake. He should have given the same amount of money to the victims of madalla bomb blast. His kind gesture is questionable. Are kano victims more important?this will surely mean that because he came from Kano www.lekanbabarinde..com

when has CBN turned into government. isn't the government responsible for this stuff that CBN is trying to do. because the people criticized him for the donation for kano victims, he then want to impress us by helping the madalla victims. Mr. governor why have u become a different person in one night. you are just a sectional fanatic who only thinks of your people. GEJ i used to be ur fan don't make me go against u. why will u allow such inconsistencies going on in the country. sanusi just wants to show off. he could have advised the government to help d victims rather than helping them unconstitutionally. i pity my great country Nigeria
Re: Cbn Donates N25m To Madalla Bomb Victims by speeder(m): 1:35pm On Feb 21, 2012
suguru, u are also a muslim fanatic. as long as madalla happened b4 kano's. y didn't he help d madalla victims when they had there's. he wants kano, his home country to oraise him. as in ''our son has remembered us'' so that when he runs for governorship -post he would be elected without hesitation

This man should be sacked with immediate effect, I smell tribalism in his doings. He is a hardcore jihadist sent to islamis the banking sector. Why 100m to kano and just 25m to madalla bomb victims
Re: Cbn Donates N25m To Madalla Bomb Victims by aribisala0(m): 2:07pm On Feb 21, 2012
any sensible person will see that it would have been better for the CBN not to get involved in any of this.
Does this help or harm the CBN?
Would we be in this mess without Sanusi?
Why is the CBN becoming involve in politics and controversy?
Re: Cbn Donates N25m To Madalla Bomb Victims by ulnan: 2:28pm On Feb 21, 2012
Dis is not unexpected 4rm sanusi,he is a fanatic who studied islamic education in arab country b4 taking up masters in bank related course, and his main reason of studying islamic education is to promote islamic through whatever means he deams possible, dis he has begun with d islamic bank, and now donation of 100m to his state.dis fanatics shud not given such sensitive positions, cos they always strive 2put islam above everyother thing.Y 100m 2 kano victims an 25m 2 madala? What parameter did he use 2 declare dis ammount? What happens 2 d igbos dat are slaughtered everyday in maiduguri, bauchi, gombe? What happens 2d bomb victims in dis states? What happens 2 d over 30 people dat died in maiduguri blast yday,God forbit more blasts,is sanusi going 2 continue spending CBN moni on compensation? Has he bcome d Government? Dis boy do tings as if he holds d key 2 dis country,I enjoin every right thinking person 2 condem dis actions
Re: Cbn Donates N25m To Madalla Bomb Victims by FrankC3: 2:45pm On Feb 21, 2012
^^ Sanusi does not have any higher degree in any 'bank related course'. He has only B.Sc in Economics from ABU and another degree in Islamic related discipline in Sudan. This was actually my major reason for disagreeing with his appointment as CBN governor ab initio, but some people think that paper certificate is not important.

all hail d chief IMAM of CBN
Re: Cbn Donates N25m To Madalla Bomb Victims by manny4life(m): 4:16pm On Feb 21, 2012
I have said this before, this man should be "forcefully" removed from the CBN and damn the consequences. The CBN should not be involved in this type of controversies, if CBN wanted to help, why not set up a bomb victims fund, that way everyone who can verify that they have been victims can access it, that way it's not political but community based and also equal opportunity. This man needs to resign or forcefully removed immediately because he's certainly clueless on how to move the CBN and the financial markets forward.
Re: Cbn Donates N25m To Madalla Bomb Victims by namfav(m): 6:36pm On Feb 21, 2012
cbn should also donate to the victims of the mosque attack in sapelle
Re: Cbn Donates N25m To Madalla Bomb Victims by samguru(m): 8:13pm On Feb 21, 2012
somebody should please enlighten me in the CBN act, where it is written CBN should donate cash to any entity?
he took the boko haram issue as if the CBN is directly involve in the business of disaster management,it is obvious the man lacks the wherewithal to manage CBN and directionless, the whole banking system is the mess, banks sacking staff, banks are not lending, economy is down just to mention a few.

he should stop this charity before Nigerians begin to tribalise the gesture .
Re: Cbn Donates N25m To Madalla Bomb Victims by Gaskia: 8:45pm On Feb 21, 2012
GEJ is just scared of stiring ethnic bitterness but he must not sacrifice our general social justice for the sake of a fake peace and artificial one nation.sanusi simply has no idea on how to run a country economy aside propaganda, had no idea to push 1st bank when he was a quota system MD aside demarketing other banks. US and UK bailed out companies n today u can see those companies standing and performing their duties. Where are the banks he claimed to have rescued with trillions of our monies? He is a failure n an ethnic champ deceiving only the unenlightened. Causing unemployment, credit crunch and taking actions n utterances that divide the country furthet. He shd not just go, he shd be probed and sanctioned accordingly.

Re: Cbn Donates N25m To Madalla Bomb Victims by Gaskia: 11:10pm On Feb 21, 2012
I wonder why d NASS or GEJ has not asked this ustaz for score card. What has he achieved? He condemned a well thought out expanded window by soludo yet he created 'cbn extended guarantees for banks, AMCON which was actually soludo's idea has been wrongly structured, what's their effect in the general economy. Just today UBA, one of the banks he decided to spare is in the news having sold bad loans worth N100B to AMCON,where where these loans during the arrangee bank inspection that no one was allowed to defend. I remember when Lounge was sacked as 1st bank MD without ripple effect to the economy, now sanusi is shouting 2012 -year of Nigeria women just to make women shout and clap for him so that we forget his ineptitude. He has not told us how his poultry n hotel are doing. He is bereft of ideas, just a quota system cbn opportunist. I only blame nigerians for being easily deceived by lies.

Instead of this bigot to embark on projects that would create employment for graduates, he created unemployment. And what kind of monetary policy allows this man to be sharing money like Christmas hamper?
