England's history is full of Protestants murdering Catholics; France's history is full of Catholics murdering Protestants; Spain's history is full of Christians murdering Jews. Pretty much all of Europe is to blame for the Crusades, in which Christians murdered Muslims. This inventory could go on at considerable length.

Mankind is unfortunately saddled with the curse of ego and violence. That is why you see fights everywhere (forget religion!). Everyone on this forum has been in a fight before when someone insulted you or didn't agree to your point of view, etc.

When you comment, it is important to accommodate all the factors and elements. People only see the fight, they don't see the cause of the fight. But eradicating the cause is the only guarantee to ending the effect, otherwise the effect will continue ad infinitum. It is true that the violence is mostly from the Muslims nowadays. But that is the nature of the world. It is in phases. Some centuries ago it was the Christian West, then the Socialist Marxists, then the Eastern Russia, then Castro's Cuba, etc.

People forget that we are in it together. Do you not know how many Muslims suffer from the violence! The people that died in Kano, how many were Christians? The people that are being killed in Maiduguri, Bauchi, etc? Aren't they majorly Muslims? The people that were killed even in Delta when the mosques were blown, were they Christians?

The annoying thing for we Muslims is that those perpetuating these acts are an infinitesimal population among us. The rest of us unanimously condemn these people, and are assidously working to curtail them.

Know this people, humanity will always fight. The US fights and kills for 'Democracy', and as long as there are humans and they have ideologies, there will always be violence. What we need to work on is accepting each other's viewpoints, and tolerating varying ideologies, not trying to force them down people's throats. Then the violence will be mitigated.

That saidn, I think religion will single handedly destroy the world as we know it. @cold put everything in the right words. Ascribing the current problems to only one religion is at best myopic. Every single religion claims exclusivity right to God, any other claim is seen as an attempt to steal this right hence the wars we are witnessing. Many people on this forum are also guilty of this and the only thing protecting especially the atheists and agnosts is the cover of the computer screen. The average Nigerian pays a premium to 'Men of God' in order for them to pray to God to fight their battles for them. Eg. Just this night, my mum asked me to pray for God to pay her her outstanding salary. I told her no, that she should DO something about it; like say finding out if there are others in the same boat, writing a formal complaint, or suing her employers. The moment she (and those like her) made a noise, she'ld be paid, or something to that effect would be done. And you know what she said? "God will fight my battles. Why are people pointing fingers at Islam, haven't You read anything about the catholic inquisition? Was Hitler a Moslem? They say God created man in his own image, but from the look of things i think its better when its the other way round, Man created God in his own way.
Cos the concept of God varies greatly as you walk into different beliefs set up by humans.
