Hi People.
I have a 2004 Murano, I bought it last year tokunbo and have been enjoying the ride till mid february, It started showing the service engine light, I serviced the engine and munually turned the light off but after 2 days it came up again.
The main problem i am having now is that each time i drive my car for about 20 to 30 mins it stops moving at some point,then i have to off the engine and start again before it moves again and it continues like that till i get to my destination. I really need advice on what the problem is.So i can fix it once and for all, Thanks,

do you mean that, while driving the car suddenly decelerates, stops & the engine is still running?? or it jst revves in motion while on D - drive & you stop. turn off ignition & on, then it starts to move. if that is it, then i think you have a transmission problem. go & check the gear oil transmission level ASAP!!! you dont want to go through the stress of fixing a murano gearbox. call me 08032615423 Myke.

my guy to be on the save side just go and run a scan on the vehicle, could be ur fuel pump or cloged nozzles, but to be 100% sure run a scan on the vehicle, and make sure u do it at a good auto shop, they will give a printout with some fault code pinpointing where the fault is at. cheers

You have an obvious fuel pump issue. Go change your fuel pump,

I really appreciate the response from you guys, I just changed the fuel pump on Saturday ohhhhh and still having same issue ohhhhhhhh, 10k Cha cha,

Without running a check, its hard to know. A possible culprit is the fuel pump relay. Even with a good fuel pump, a bad relay will still give you a bad result.

Run scan to prevent you from running from pillar to post.

I did the scan thing today and got the 5 error codes below,

P0720 VEH SPD SRN/CIR AT

P1700 CVT C/U FUNCT

P1720 V/SP SEN (A/T OUT)

P1574 ASCD VHL SPD SEN

P1715 IN PULY SPEED


After the scan the dude asked me to get a new gearbox,
Any further advice plz? The gear box cost alot ohhhhh,

KAI, I BEG IN THE NAME OF GOD DONT HEED TO HIS ADVICE FROM THE CODES U HAVE IT SHOWS THAT THEY ARE ALL SPEED RELATED PROBLEMS

possibly the MAF (mass airflow) sensor nothing to do with the gearbox

Check my thread where I solved a similar issue on a 2004 maxima.
